Exploring Life & Business with Jaymee Damaso of IMPACT Sports Chiropractic & Wellness

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jaymee Damaso.

Hi Jaymee, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My name is Dr. Jaymee Damaso, D.C., and I’m a Chiropractor and Certified Lymphatic Massage Specialist, proudly born and raised on the beautiful island of Guam. Growing up, I was always active—playing sports like basketball, soccer, volleyball, rugby, and Olympic weightlifting, as well as dancing ballet, jazz, tap, hula, and Tahitian. That active lifestyle sparked my passion for movement, recovery, and helping others stay at their best.

I knew from the young age of 10 that I wanted to become a chiropractor. One of my biggest inspirations was my uncle, who was attending chiropractic school at the time. The way he talked about helping people through hands-on, holistic care really resonated with me—and I knew then that it was the path I wanted to pursue.

I went on to earn my Bachelor of Science in Biology with a minor in Chemistry from the University of Hawai’i at Hilo, then moved to Southern California to earn my Doctorate of Chiropractic from Southern California University of Health Sciences’ (SCUHS) Los Angeles Chiropractic College.

After graduation, I gained experience working at The Joint Chiropractic in Irvine and Westminster while also offering mobile chiropractic care to clients in local gyms. I eventually opened my own practice in Diamond Bar, California—and now, I’ve relocated to Oceanside, where I’m excited to grow my practice and become more involved in this amazing community.

Helping people move, feel, and live better has always been my passion, and I’m grateful every day to do work that’s both fulfilling and purpose-driven.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road the entire way—like many journeys, there have been challenges and growing pains. After graduation, I worked full-time at The Joint Chiropractic four days a week, while also building my mobile chiropractic business on the remaining three. It was a nonstop schedule that quickly became overwhelming.

There were periods of burnout where I got sick from overworking, missed important family events, and felt the weight of trying to do it all. At The Joint, I often saw 50 to 60 patients a day—and even up to 86 or 87 in a single shift. It was physically and mentally taxing.

Later, stepping into private practice brought a new set of challenges. Being a business owner is incredibly rewarding, but it’s definitely not always smooth sailing. From putting myself out there, introducing myself to local businesses, managing the behind-the-scenes operations, and building trust in a new community—it’s all been part of the process. There’s a constant learning curve, especially when you’re wearing many hats as both a healthcare provider and entrepreneur.

Still, every tough season has taught me valuable lessons—about resilience, boundaries, and the importance of staying grounded in my purpose. I’ve learned to prioritize work-life balance, protect my energy, and lean into the long game. Looking back, I’m thankful for every step, even the difficult ones, because they’ve helped shape me into who I am today

Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about IMPACT Sports Chiropractic & Wellness?
At IMPACT Sports Chiropractic & Wellness, my mission is to help active individuals live pain-free and return to doing what they love—whether that’s lifting, running, training, dancing, or simply moving without restriction. My practice blends chiropractic care with soft tissue therapy, corrective movement, and lymphatic drainage massage to provide a well-rounded, personalized approach to healing and recovery.

What sets my practice apart is not only the combination of services I offer but the intention behind them. I’m both a Chiropractor and a Certified Lymphatic Massage Specialist, with a deep understanding of athletic performance, post-op recovery, and functional movement. I’ve worked with everyone from competitive athletes to post-surgical patients, and I tailor every session to each person’s unique needs and goals.

As someone born and raised on the island of Guam and a lifelong mover myself—playing sports like basketball, rugby, Olympic weightlifting, and various forms of dance—I bring a unique perspective to care. I understand the mindset of someone who pushes their body and needs more than just a “quick fix.” That’s why my care goes beyond adjustments—I educate my patients, offer home exercises, and prioritize long-term results over short-term relief.

I’m especially proud of the brand I’ve built because it reflects both who I am and what I value: authenticity, education, community, and impact. I also proudly offer discounts to military personnel and first responders—because our heroes deserve to be cared for in return for all they sacrifice.

Whether someone is recovering from surgery, prepping for a competition, or simply wanting to move and feel better, I want every person who walks through my doors to feel seen, supported, and empowered in their healing journey.

Any big plans?
Looking ahead, I’m really excited about the future of IMPACT Sports Chiropractic & Wellness. One of my goals is to eventually expand into a larger space where I can offer an even more comprehensive experience for patients. I’d love to incorporate additional modalities that complement chiropractic —to create a truly integrated wellness environment.

While it may take some time, I also envision building a team of like-minded providers, including other chiropractors, massage therapists, and holistic practitioners who share the same patient-centered values. It’s something I see happening in the years to come, and I’m excited to grow toward that vision.

Another dream of mine is to take part in chiropractic mission trips and bring care to underserved communities around the world. Being able to make an impact beyond my immediate community and give back in that way is something I truly look forward to.

Overall, I’m just really grateful for how far things have come—and even more excited for what’s ahead.
