Exploring Life & Business with Kelsey Theisen of Linneage

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kelsey Theisen.

Hi Kelsey, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
My small business got started because I struggled to find baby/children gifts that were stylish and were sustainable if possible. This sparked an idea in my head and it grew to such a passion that I knew I just had to pursue it. Fast forward and here I am with my own online children’s boutique! I started out making cotton muslin blankets and swaddles, and it has now expanded to working with suppliers and manufacturers of goods that align with my vision and values. There are so many exciting things to come in the future (including some handmade clothes I’m wrapping up finishing touches on!) — so please follow along the journey! Linneage.co

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It’s been a bit tricky building from the ground up all on my own. I set out to do this on my own, with my own knowledge and resources. It took some time and energy to find good suppliers/manufacturers that aligned with my vision and values, but that was one of the most important things for me. Also, with COVID, shipping got delayed on some items several times, so my launch dates got pushed back, which was kind of a bummer after so much excitement. I’ve enjoyed it every step of the way through and wouldn’t change a thing!

We’ve been impressed with Linneage, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
We are a small children’s boutique specializing in sustainable and heirloom goods. This currently includes blankets, swaddles, mealtime sets, sunglasses, stacker toys, beach toys, and teethers. Coming soon is a clothing line!

Is there a quality that you most attribute to your success?
Sustainability, supporting small businesses, transparency, and authenticity.
