Exploring Life & Business with Kyle Kobernus of Ignite Strength and Conditioning

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kyle Kobernus.

Kyle Kobernus

Hi Kyle, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
Ignite Strength and Conditioning started August of 2021 in Carlsbad, CA. I started Ignite Strength and Conditioning with the mission of creating a positive culture with great workouts, smart programming, and where everyone who trains at Ignite always has their fitness and athletic goals in mind. I was blessed to have a little bit of a following when I started Ignite, and with that grew a family. It was quite the journey of blood, sweat and tears starting a business from the ground up, but the members of Ignite helped grow this amazing culture and it has made my job so rewarding.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Starting a business is not easy to say the least. I have been in the strength and conditioning field and fitness industry for 16 years now and have learned what to do and not do along the way. I have held the titles of Athlete, Head Coach, and Director of Sports Performance in the past, but once you become an owner of a business, you take on the responsibility of many roles. I am still learning and growing, but I am someone who never gives up, no matter how many struggles come my way. I am very blessed to have my wife who supports me immensely. It would be hard to run Ignite without her in my corner. When I started Ignite, I had a group of amazing friends and members who have followed me to support my mission and help spread the word of Ignite Strength and Conditioning. Without their amazing support the Ignite culture would not be what it is today.

Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Ignite Strength and Conditioning?
At Ignite Strength and Conditioning, it is our mission to empower our athletes and clients to unlock their potential. It is our job as service providers to put our athlete’s goals and aspirations at the forefront of everything we do. Our goal is to see our athletes and clients perform at the best of their abilities while developing the skills necessary to excel in life.

When it comes to Ignite, our focus is to develop the best training program in San Diego County for both athletes and active adults. We want to compete with any gym in the area to provide a better program, better service, and better experience. We offer personal training as well as group training for both active adults and athletes high school aged and older.

Where do you see things going in the next 5-10 years?
I believe the fitness industry can be a little confusing and misleading at times due to what we see on social media and online, but I believe the coaches and trainers who are well educated and experienced will always prevail. The coaches who truly care about their clients and athletes are the ones that will come out on top. I see a trend of private training gyms becoming more prevalent as opposed to big box or commercial gyms. Most people have enough stress and responsibility in their life, so having a coach to guide them and help them with their goals is key for success.

In terms of Ignite’s future, I want to continue to grow a great culture and provide a great service to everyone at Ignite. I want to make sure Ignite will always have an atmosphere where people feel comfortable coming to the gym and that they have fun while getting after it with their training and workouts.

Our goal at Ignite is to be a one stop shop for all of your health and wellness needs. A place where people can come to get better both mentally and physically. To have a facility where you can come to improve your physical fitness, athleticism, nutritional habits and mental strength is where Ignite is heading in the near future.
