Hi Lizette, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I used to assist my sister, who is a florist, at her events as a side job and really more like a hobby. One wedding in particular stands out in my memory. It was a beautiful venue adorned with minimum amount of flowers but full of candles. The concept of incorporating candles into such a romantic and auspicious moment of life captivated me. It was an experience I had seen in pictures but never experienced firsthand. I was also deeply enamored with candles and their ability to transform any ambiance from ordinary to elegant and stunning. Inspired by this experience, I decided to become a part of such special moments for couples, adding the extra touch of romanticism that candles can provide.
To achieve this in the summer of 2023 I embarked on a research journey to explore the various types of candles available in the market. I carefully considered factors such as pricing, quality, duration of burning,etc. I conducted thorough testing of each product in my kitchen to ensure that I was selecting the best quality candles possible.
I began collaborating with others and essentially working for free in exchange for professional photographs that I could have used on social media to promote my new business.
My sister was a tremendous source of support and inspiration throughout this project. Initially, it was more of a hobby, but it has transformed into something that brings me immense satisfaction and, of course, an additional income, which is incredibly helpful.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
starting something completely new that isn’t at all related with what you have done in your life comes with its own challenges, from the extra time that you need to take from your activities at the moment to the big responsibility that comes when you are offering a service and people are trusting you on such a special day for them. Required sacrifice and a lot of effort but at the end of the day it’s very gratifying
