Today we’d like to introduce you to Lupita Golmes.
Hi Lupita, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I’m the owner of a small shop name after my daughter @angelique_closet establish in April 2013. A little after she was born, I started selling her pre-loved clothing I notice I was spending way too much money on handmade clothing is when I decided to start making her few accessories I started with mommy and my scarfs. I didn’t know a thing about sewing. So I decided to drive to Tijuana for some sewing classes, I remember my first day in class I cried on my way to the border I was so overwhelm I wanted to quit. Fast forward eight years later I’m here making beautiful girls clothing and mommy and me matching outfits.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Not smooth at all, one of the hardest struggles is to find providers (fabrics). I had to drive to Los Angeles once a month to find good fabrics with my 5-year-old on the stroller and my 3-month-old in the baby carrier.
Where we are in life is often partly because of others. Who/what else deserves credit for how your story turned out?
1st my husband for always supporting on all my crazy decision. 2nd my best friend (she was my partner for few years). 3rd my kids for supporting my 3 hr drives to LA picking up fabrics with me missing school, etc.
