Exploring Life & Business with Nancy Rosett of Kostel Design

Today we’d like to introduce you to Nancy Rosett.

Hi Nancy , it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
For as long as I can remember, I’ve been obsessed with how spaces make people feel. Even as a kid, I was rearranging rooms and dreaming up new ways to make them more beautiful, more functional, and more alive.

My career actually started in a completely different arena — quite literally. I began working for the Arizona Diamondbacks, where I specialized in enhancing the fan experience at Chase Field. I helped spearhead large-scale renovations and experiential upgrades designed to make the ballpark more engaging, comfortable, and memorable. It was there that I fell in love with the idea of how environment shapes emotion — how design, whether in a stadium or a home, can completely transform the way people connect to a space.

That passion eventually led me to pursue interior design full-time. I joined a high-end residential design firm in Aspen, Colorado, where I worked on custom homes in Aspen, Telluride, and Vail. Those projects taught me how to marry architecture with atmosphere — creating spaces that are both luxurious and deeply livable.

After several years in the Rockies, I traded snow for sand and moved to Del Mar, California, where I worked for another prestigious interior design firm. My work took me throughout Scottsdale, Del Mar, and even internationally in Cabo San Lucas, blending mountain refinement with coastal sophistication and a touch of global flair.

When I launched Kostel Design, I wanted to build more than a studio — I wanted to build a statement. Kostel is about expressive design that tells a story. It’s bold, unapologetic, and always deeply personal. I believe your home should reflect who you are — not just how you live, but how you want to live.

Kostel is where my journey comes together — from stadiums to mountain homes to oceanfront villas — a blend of precision, personality, and fearless creativity.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Of course, the journey hasn’t been without challenges. I’ve been called the duck — calm on the surface, paddling like crazy underneath to make everything happen. Running large projects across states and timelines taught me how much unseen effort goes into creating something that feels effortless.

And if there’s one word that defines my career, it’s pivot. Design — and life — rarely go according to plan. I’ve learned to adapt quickly, stay graceful in the chaos, and find opportunity in every detour. Pivoting with grace has become my superpower.
Every challenge has shaped the designer I am today. Kostel Design is the sum of it all — from stadiums to mountain homes to coastal retreats — built on passion, precision, and the belief that great design should always make you feel something.

Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Kostel Design?
Kostel Design isn’t just a studio — it’s a statement. We create spaces that are expressive, bold, and designed to make you feel something. I launched Kostel with the belief that great design should never play it safe — it should tell a story, spark emotion, and capture the personality of the people who live there.

Our studio specializes in high-end, full-service residential design, from large-scale remodels to ground-up builds. We handle everything from architectural coordination and material selection to furniture, lighting, and styling — crafting comprehensive interiors that are as intentional as they are beautiful. What sets us apart is our concept-driven approach. Every Kostel project starts with a clear creative narrative — a design signature that threads through every detail, ensuring the space feels cohesive, elevated, and completely one-of-a-kind.

We’re known for our ability to merge architectural integrity with bold, expressive design — creating homes that feel lived-in yet luxuriously composed. Whether it’s a coastal retreat, a modern mountain home, or a desert escape, our work always balances sophistication with soul.

What I’m most proud of, brand-wise, is that Kostel has a point of view. We don’t follow trends; we create moments. The brand stands for confidence, individuality, and the freedom to live loudly — because your home should be as unapologetic as you are.

For readers getting to know us: Kostel Design is for those who want more than “pretty.” It’s for those who want personality — spaces that challenge the expected, celebrate contrast, and feel distinctly theirs. We design for people who want to live boldly, beautifully, and without hesitation.

How do you think about luck?
I always say luck is just preparation wearing a good outfit. Sure, I’ve had lucky breaks — meeting the right people, landing dream projects, or being in the perfect place at the perfect time. But I’ve also had those “you’ve got to be kidding me” moments that felt like bad luck… until they turned into blessings in disguise.

In design, something always goes sideways — a shipment’s late, a plan changes, a tile gets discontinued. That’s where the magic word comes in: pivot. I’ve learned to pivot fast and pivot with grace — maybe with a coffee in hand. The truth is, luck favors the flexible. The more I’ve rolled with it, the luckier I’ve gotten.
