Exploring Life & Business with Natalie Novak of KPS ESSENTIALS

Today we’d like to introduce you to Natalie Novak.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
In 1987 I sold luxury skincare in a high-end department store in South Coast Plaza in Orange County, CA. In October, after a pretty severe earthquake, I arrived at work, and while cleaning up the stock room, I noticed one of the products had broken and had eaten through the carpet. Seeing something I sold for the skin eat through the floor was a game-changer; I realized I needed more information. The first thing that came to mind was, how is this legal! What is this doing to my body and how would it affect the environment. At this point, I began my journey by studying everything about skin and skincare and eventually became an esthetician. Right after this happened my grandmother was diagnosed with breast cancer. Her Dr. suggested that it could have been caused by the chemicals in all the cosmetics she had used over the years. The writing was on the wall for me at this point. After changing everything about my lifestyle, eating healthy, exercising, etc. I wanted more than the norm for the family I was raising. Ten Years later, I bought an organic farm, raising livestock and produce, and my young daughter became interested in skincare and painting her nails.

My daughters’ new interest in skincare and nail polish sparked some fears in me, so I began to make my own. So, I started developing my holistic products from the things I had grown on my farm. Eventually, I generated enough products to create an organic skincare company. In 2009 I started Keeki Pure and Simple and launched in Whole Foods.

In 2012, I met Ron Webb, who also had a passion for health and healthy living. Ron’s approach to a healthy life was through a healthy mind, body, and spirit. We both shared a passion for spirituality through meditation, a healthy body through exercise, organic nutrition, and controlling environmental impacts on our lives.

Ron spent the past 27 years of his life as a physicist, working on developing spacecraft and rockets for The Boeing Company in Huntington Beach, Ca. He also collaborated with his mother in biological sciences, including animal wound care, where they developed organic solutions for her Arabian horse farm. When we met, Ron had started an organic skincare company and three technology companies. What interested me was how he used some of the technology he had used in aerospace to increase the coverage of nutrients in skincare by over 10,000%. The most impressive was how the skin reacted to this increased nutrition coverage. KPS has an advantage in collagen & elastin, hydration by over 185%, hyperpigmentation, and cellulite, and we are the first in our industry to work with skin volume. The success of KPS Skincare is about root-cause nutrition.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Concerning Obstacles/Challenges, KPS has had many challenges. We worked with a marketing company that had a lot of “Blackhat” practices that hurt our social media standings. We learned about some of the more challenging practices of large-box retailers. The Covid pandemic decimated the spa industry and shut down our new accounts with the best hotels and resorts in the country before we could get the products on the shelf. We continue to maneuver our way through it all.

Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about KPS ESSENTIALS?
We specialize in performance and a root-cause nutrient approach to skincare. Our products are formulated with Organic Food Grade Ingredients. I learned early on that the industry standard is that the money goes into marketing and not into the ingredients. I wanted to take an entirely new approach to skincare. We specialize in helping people with horrible skin conditions. Our Performance is what makes us stand out above the crowd.

I am most proud of helping people get their lives back that deal with horrendous skin conditions. We work great on scarring and wrinkles too, but when it comes to chronic issues our performance is unbeatable!

KPS stands for Kind, Pure, and Smart. We give back to cancer patients through Hello Gorgeous and are involved in Save the Soil project. We use only food-grade organic and responsibly sourced ingredients. We use technology outside the industry to increase the coverage of nutrients for the skin to bring industry-leading performance. We collaborate with the medical sector and teach what we know to MDs and DOs medical practitioners.

If you had to, what characteristic of yours would you give the most credit to?
What sets us apart is performance; we can help people who have exhausted all other options.
