Today we’d like to introduce you to PJ Riley.
Hi PJ, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
P-arron (PJ) Riley Sr., aka Sound Wav Audio Production, is an L.A. based Production Sound & Location Recording Company. Specializing in Audio Engineering for Film, Television, & Commercial Video Productions. I deliver quality production sound through years of experience working with top-tier sound recording equipment.
Recording Sound isn’t just a “Job” to me; it’s my passion. Starting back in 2007, I worked for a local radio station, developing commercials for local businesses and networking with individuals within the entertainment industries. After leaving the station, I attended Moorpark College’s Radio, Film, and Television department and developed a love and passion for Audio. I’ve worked extensively in most areas of Audio Engineering and have developed a comprehensive knowledge of audio engineering. I have developed skills raging from location sound mixing for film to producing music and sound designing different types projects. Over the years, my skills have given me the opportunity to work a few Celebrities! Whether working on a Narrative Film, Commercial, or with a musician, it’s ultimately about capturing a performance and transporting the listener to another time & place.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back, would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Getting to this level was no easy task for me, as I had some obstacles that I had to overcome. After attending Moorpark College, I was slated to attend Cal State Long Beach. It was during that time my wife informed me that we were starting a family. At the point, I realized that I had to put my dreams aside and provide for my family. It was during this time I begun to work a 9-5 office job. In 2015 I found myself in a bad situation, forcing me to lose my job, my cars, and my home forcing me and family to live in a hotel for 3 months. During this time, I begun to rebuild myself and slowly got back on my feet, finding a stable home, a new 9-5, and taking on small film projects. In 2021 during the Covid-19 pandemic, I lost my job again and decided to take my career back into my own hands again. During the pandemic, I created SoundWav Audio Production and set out to advance my skills as an audio engineer.

SoundWav Audio Production is an audio business that specializes in Audio Production for the Motion Picture Industry. My company specializes in Location Sound Mixing, Post Audio Editing, and Voice Over Recording. What sets us apart from other companies is our commitment to improving the quality of audio recorded in the entertainment industry by not only bring knowledge and skills to the table but also being the glue that holds Film and Television productions together.
