Today we’d like to introduce you to Quentin Williams.
Hi Quentin, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
In 2012, I was a Division 1 football player at Northwestern when I discovered the mental health crisis was impacting men around the world—especially former athletes. Initially thinking my path would align with solving the “brain health” issue, little did I know the problem ran much deeper and was far more nuanced than the media portrayed.
After college, I spent years wrestling with my own identity, emotions, and purpose beyond the game. It wasn’t until a spiritual awakening in 2017 that I began to understand the full spectrum of what men are truly up against—not just physically or mentally, but emotionally and spiritually as well. That moment catalyzed the creation of a business dedicated to helping men become masculine leaders—not in the outdated, stoic sense of the word, but in a grounded, emotionally intelligent, purpose-driven way.
Over the last 6 years in business, I’ve worked with hundreds of men—many of them former athletes, high performers, and entrepreneurs—helping them embody healthy masculinity, master their emotions, and create meaningful momentum in both their personal and professional lives.
Today, I’m proud to be based here in San Diego (Encinitas), where I lead powerful in-person men’s groups and immersive workshops that foster connection, confidence, and leadership in high-performing men. The men’s groups are sponsored by The Group SD, a community of like-minded individuals & entrepreneurs committed to growth, service, and impact. Whether it’s running a retreat in Joshua Tree, facilitating powerful discussions on mental performance, or curating a workshop in a local space, I’m focused on creating spaces where men can drop the mask, deepen their relationships, and rediscover who they are beyond achievement.
My mission is simple: to help men stop performing and start leading—from the boardroom to the bedroom and everywhere in between.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
The road has been anything but smooth, and that’s exactly why I do this work.
Like many men, especially former athletes, I was taught to push through pain, perform under pressure, and avoid anything that looked like weakness. But after college, I found myself completely unprepared for the emotional fallout of life beyond the game.
In 2018, I hit a breaking point. I was dealing with post-concussion syndrome—something I didn’t even fully understand at the time. The mood swings, the brain fog, the emotional instability… it was pretty wild how much it impacted every facet of my life. I looked fine on the outside, but inside, I was spiraling. I started having suicidal ideations. That was the darkest season of my life. I felt like I had lost myself—my purpose, my joy, my identity.
That rock bottom forced me to face everything I had been avoiding. It was no longer about “toughing it out” or pretending I was okay. I had to do the deep work—emotionally, spiritually, and physically—to rebuild from the inside out. And it all started with taking a leap of faith & betting on myself for the first time… in a long time.
Launching my business wasn’t just a career decision… it was essentially a lifeline, and served as a vehicle for my own healing, and over time, the foundation for helping other guys heal and evolve too. It helped me create The Man Up Formula & The World Class Method, which we use in my groups & trainings today to help men develop healthy masculine leadership & emotional mastery.
Of course, there have been other struggles, like adrenal fatigue, financial loss, lots of loneliness, self-doubt. But honestly none of it compares to that time in 2018. It taught me that true leadership doesn’t come from looking like you’ve got it all together. It comes from doing the inner work and getting support where you want to “lone wolf” it.
Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about World Class?
World Class is built on the belief that true, healthy masculinity involves not just Stepping Up… but Opening Up. You don’t have to buy into the red pill ideology of masculinity to feel like a “man.” And you don’t have to be caught up in your emotions and always sensitive to feel like a “lover.” In fact, you can have it all, and be it all. It’s about being an integrated man, a dynamic leader. And a man who’s comfortable with his imperfections.
Our unique take on masculinity & men’s work – makes this stuff approachable to the everyday man. The high performer who is looking for his next edge. Who has it all, but still knows there’s more. Who has the right life on paper… but feels stuck or at a plateau.
We’re here to help men evolve & grow beyond what they do. Which innately ends up helping them improve what they do… by becoming more of who they ARE.
Networking and finding a mentor can have such a positive impact on one’s life and career. Any advice?
Be yourself. Pretty simple. And be willing to GIVE before you receive. Show up, be authentic, and see how you can help. Naturally, I’ve found the best mentors by asking people I look up to how I can help them. Build with them. And get to know them on a personal level.
Networking isn’t about what you do. It’s about who you are. Make a personal connection & ask a deeper question. Follow up every “surface level” question with a question that guides the conversation toward what makes the person tick.
“what got you into that?”
“what was that like?”
“what brought you out to san diego (if applicable)?”
Go deep! You won’t regret it.
