Today we’d like to introduce you to Ranika Koneru.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I’m Ranika Koneru, 4-year digital nomad. I consider San Diego to be my chosen home in the United States, and even while there, I considered myself a missionary, moving 5 different times, starting in Mission Valley to Mission Hills to Mission Beach. (I then went to La Jolla and ended up one stable year in Point Loma.) To this date, I have my closest friends from San Diego, and was the start of learning how to break out of the 9-5 rat race into what I do today, which is coaching people who are done with feeling frustrated about Mondays, underappreciated, and underpaid into learning how to leverage their skills and turn it into passive income. I teach these methods with a step-by-step course leveraging high-ticket affiliate marketing. San Diego is especially a paradise, but sometimes you want more, and the weekend jaunts to Rosarito aren’t cutting it. There’s a big world out there with so much to explore. I help people achieve financial independence so they can take the next step by traveling the world and gettin the location freedom they deserve instead of being fixed to a certain spot while their wanderlust takes their mind elsewhere. That’s why I created Cloud Connections – Digital Nomad Festival Retreats to help aspiring nomads connect with like-minded individuals and witness some of the world’s most spectacular events, like Carnival in Brazil or the dazzling lantern festival in Northern Thailand. I got started in my nomadic journey with the spring of Covid and realized that during lockdown, it was possible to work remotely with just a Wi-Fi signal. There’s a huge downside to nomading in that it can be lonely, and hence, that’s why I decided to bridge that gap with Cloud Connections, but first with coaching to help people realize the opportunity to have more of what they crave. I’m so excited to help others find this amazing lifestyle and have even taken the stage at a few nomad events in 2023 to share about how to get started and seize opportunities for a passive income lifestyle.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Ha, that’s a great question! During covid, there’s been loads of lockdowns and challenges that made me question if it was even ok to travel. Flash forward to today, travel burnout is also a real feeling, and slowing down seems to be the answer. As you grow, so much of your current aspirations shift, and that’s ok. It’s you evolving and adapting. I’ve shifted into a few business ideas, had to grow confidence in getting over stage fright, and realize I needed to take action and surround myself with people that already attained success. It’s had a lot of ups in terms of excitement and a lot of downs, like going against the norm and leaving my 9-5 back in 2023. It’s still a bit rocky, but I remain optimistic for how 2024 will go and know it’s going to be a lot of determination with the aim of being financially free in 2025 and create a beautiful community, and give back in the process.
Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Cloud Connections?
Digital Nomad Festival Retreats, bringing aspiring and seasoned nomads together to experience some of the best cultural festivals the world has to offer. We specialize in creating an immersive experience to connect with both locals and like-minded peers and go on a journey to understand some of the best offerings of that culture and what makes that culture unique through festival. It’s about connecting with the mind with each other and growing different skillsets as we’ll invite content creators, SEO specialists, digital marketing experts to give skill shares as well as cultural experts to share the history of the event and teach us samba for example for Carnival in Rio or yoga for Holi in India. We stand out as providing this niche cultural immersion and give motivation and community around some of the world’s most beautiful events. I’d love for readers to know that they are welcome to join and to sign up for the email list for updates and to follow Cloudconnections_ on IG.
Who else deserves credit in your story?
Yes, I am currently being mentored by Michelle Maree, founder of Nomad Escape, in growing my business to the next level. I’m starting up a coaching plan with her where I’ll implement the actions, and can’t wait to see what happens for 2024 and bring this to the nomad community.
