Today we’d like to introduce you to Ryan Moore
Hi Ryan, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
As a San Diego Native and a local Chef of 20 years I’d always dreamed of creating my own hot sauce condiment not just any hot sauce but one made with fresh ingredients great flavor and nice heat. So I got into the kitchen made a sauce that I thought was unique in flavor and color. I immediately had something come over me and kept pushing forward with figuring out how I was going to bring this sauce to market with no idea on how to do so, or where I was going to find the time with my busy Chef schedule. Then covid hit and the restaurant I was working at closed down, there was my sign, I had to sink or swim. I was going to make my dreams into a reality! I went through all the loop holes of business licensing, found a copacker and produced my first 40 gallons of pineapple habanero and the rest is delicious history.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The struggle has been real! Nobody believes me when I tell this story but, I truly had no idea how many other small batch hot sauce companies were in existence, but I feel that was a blessing in disguise. Then came tons of trial and error making recipes along the way, countless NO’s when trying to get accounts and my sauce onto the shelves at retailers.
Luckily my persistence, passion for making great sauce and flat out hard work changed everything for me. Knowing what I know now, would I do it all again? ABSOLUTELY!
