Hi Savannah, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I’ve always known I wanted to be a prenatal sonographer. I even kept a homework assignment from when I was 12 years old explaining that I want to be an ultrasound tech when I grow up! That early passion led me to eventually become a nationally registered diagnostic medical sonographer, specializing in OB/GYN. I’ve worked in high-risk pregnancy settings, including as a Maternal-Fetal Medicine Sonographer at Cedars-Sinai’s Prenatal Diagnosis Center, where I gained experience in advanced prenatal imaging. I have also worked in diagnostic fertility in-home ultrasounds for people going through the IVF process.
My Little Peekaboo is a mobile prenatal ultrasound service based in San Diego that provides expecting parents with an intimate way to connect with their baby from the comfort of their home. I offer non-diagnostic ultrasounds, starting with the first trimester “Early Pregnancy Scan” for that first clear, up-close view, and “Peek at Me” scans later in pregnancy. This gives expecting parents a chance to see their baby move, stretch, yawn, listen to the heartbeat, and more. I founded My Little Peekaboo to provide a comforting way to see your developing baby beyond the standard medical ultrasounds while always encouraging clients to attend all of their doctor’s appointments. Many people only receive two medical ultrasounds throughout pregnancy, which sometimes doesn’t feel like enough – that’s where my mobile service comes in. I don’t diagnose conditions; I offer reassurance to people who are seeking comfort and keepsakes.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Like any journey, there were challenges and road bumps along the way, but I’m so glad I persevered. I feel so lucky that work never really feels like “work.” It’s rewarding to provide peace of mind to expecting parents and to be a mentor for students in ultrasound school who are becoming increasingly interested in mobile ultrasound, which is something I wish had been available to me when I was starting my journey.

Any big plans?
