Today we’d like to introduce you to Sean Vargas.
Sean, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I actually started out in physics and engineering — I’ve always been drawn to solving problems and understanding how systems work. Over time, I found myself applying that same mindset to finance and insurance. Families weren’t struggling because they didn’t care; they just didn’t have clear guidance.
So I built My Legacy Management to bridge that gap — helping people with Medicare, life insurance, retirement, and estate planning in a way that actually connects. It started as me balancing two worlds, science and finance, and over time it’s grown into a team and a business that lets me focus fully on guiding families and building legacies.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Definitely not a smooth road. Back in school, I actually landed on academic probation — which forced me to face failure head-on and figure out how to rebuild myself. That experience carried into business too. In sales and marketing, you hear “no” a lot, and learning not to take that personally was a big adjustment.
On top of that, I had to make some tough choices — balancing commitments to the business versus a job, and even personal obligations. Friends and family didn’t always understand what I was building, so there were times I felt like I was on my own. Add in long days and the constant battle of time management, and it really tested me.
But those challenges ended up being the foundation. They taught me discipline, resilience, and how to stay focused even when support or certainty wasn’t there.
As you know, we’re big fans of My Legacy Management. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
My business is called My Legacy Management, and at the core we help families protect what matters most — their health, finances, and future. We specialize in Medicare, life insurance, retirement strategies, and estate planning. A lot of people come to us thinking these things are only for the wealthy or complicated, but we’ve built a process that’s simple, personal, and focused on clarity.
What sets us apart is the way we approach it. I’m not just selling a product — I work as a personal legacy manager, connecting all the dots so clients have peace of mind across the board. That means making sure their Medicare plan fits their doctors and prescriptions, their retirement accounts are working for them, and their estate plan actually reflects their wishes.
Brand-wise, I’m proud that we’ve built trust as a one-stop resource. People know they can come to us with questions — whether it’s a parent turning 65 or a family trying to figure out a living trust — and we’ll walk them through it without pressure.
At the end of the day, I want readers to know our brand is about simplicity, security, and service. We’re here to help families feel confident about the future, without the stress and confusion that often comes with financial planning.
Before we let you go, we’ve got to ask if you have any advice for those who are just starting out?
My biggest advice is to move fast and commit fully. Don’t overthink — just start, fail fast, and learn even faster. Every mistake is just a rep in your own growth.
The biggest thing I wish I knew early on is how much mindset drives everything. The skills you can learn, the systems you can build — but if you don’t have the right mindset, you’ll break at the first obstacle. And trust me, there will be plenty of them. You’ll doubt yourself, people will doubt you, and that’s exactly when you have to double down on yourself.
If you treat every challenge as a chance to accelerate your own development, you’ll grow faster than you ever thought possible.
