Exploring Life & Business with Payton Fowler of Market 2 Mint

Today we’d like to introduce you to Payton Fowler

Hi Payton, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I embarked on this entrepreneurial journey in 2021, capitalizing on the surge in card collecting ignited by the Covid-19 pandemic. Our inaugural office in Escondido served as the cornerstone, from which we’ve blossomed into a network of twelve thriving shops across four states. Proudly family-owned and operated, we’re passionate about delivering exceptional service and building connections within our community.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
With rapid expansion inevitably come bumps in the road. Our most significant challenge has been maintaining consistent supply to meet soaring demand. Nevertheless, it’s a challenge we’re grateful for, as it underscores the success and growth of our business.

Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Through our submission service center kiosks, and at no cost to shop owners, Market 2 Mint can satisfy customers’ grading & authentication needs via our partnerships with PSA, SGC, BGS, CGC, and JSA. We support all the grading & authentication services offered by these providers including cards, packs, tickets, comic books, Funko, autographs, etc. In addition, we’ve developed a highly regarded and comprehensive pre-grading service to ensure submitters only send the highest quality products. We conduct our daily business operations from our flagship office, a 2,500-square-foot commercial facility in Escondido, CA. We carry comprehensive liability and shipping insurance, use ultra-high-resolution cameras and video equipment to catalog every order, store Customers’ orders in commercially rated fire & water-resistant safes, and we use only the best preparation, processing, and shipping materials available.

What do you like best about our city? What do you like least?
After three decades in the military, the family has traversed the breadth of the United States, seeking a place to call home. It wasn’t until we settled in San Diego seven years ago that we found true solace. With its idyllic weather, vibrant blend of cultures, and a staggering array of nineteen professional sports teams, San Diego offers a lifestyle unlike any other. Moreover, the city hosts numerous card shows catering to Southern California’s enthusiasts on a monthly basis. Our business has thrived in this environment, as San Diego serves as our primary market, fueling our growth and positively impacting our bottom line.
