Today we’d like to introduce you to Vivian Ho
Hi Vivian, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Kids & Coffee was born from our personal experience as new parents during the COVID pandemic. Most of the options available in our area lacked innovation – they are either overstimulating, lack basic amenities and only cater to the child, leaving the caretaker underserved. Kids & Coffee tackles these issues by providing children with an enriching play environment AND offering caregivers a space to connect and recharge.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
The journey has definitely had its challenges! The permitting process was one of the biggest hurdles—there were constant delays related to the approval process. Beyond that, the build-out process came with its own set of struggles including construction delays, budget adjustments, custom design challenges and navigating other local regulations. Despite the challenges, seeing our vision come to life has made it all worthwhile!
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?

Alright, so to wrap up, is there anything else you’d like to share with us?
Kids & Coffee is a community hub. We have multiple give-back programs in place; for example, for every event booked at Kids & Coffee, we donate to Cake4Kids San Diego, an organization that bakes and delivers custom birthday cakes to underserved children. With the recent LA Fire, we donated 100% of our weekend’s coffee sales to LAFD along with a donation drive. We distributed all the excessive donations to local non-profits so our local community can benefit from it as well. We also have workshops on parenting topics like IVF journeys, postpartum depression, baby-led weaning, and potty training. All these parenting workshops are free of charge and any purchases are not required.
