Christa, we loved learning your story, but I think our audience is going to appreciate learning about the product side of your story as well. So, maybe you can help bring everyone up to speed?
Our Vegan Oil-Based Makeup Brush Cleaner is an oil-based formula designed to gently yet effectively remove makeup, dirt, and residue from your brushes. It’s infused with nourishing oils. It not only cleans makeup brushes but also conditions the bristles, keeping them soft and long-lasting. The inspiration for this creation came to me one day when I was cleaning my brushes with some makeup wipes and I realized how wasteful I was being. After four or five makeup wipes, I did some research and realized there weren’t any oil-based, biodegradable makeup brush cleaners. So I carefully crafted the perfect formula. Once I had the formula done, I worked on finding the perfect packaging for my new creation. It’s in a UV glass bottle which helps protect the formula and has a spray cap for quick and efficient use.
What’s been the most exciting part of the journey of taking this product from idea to real life?
The most exciting part of my journey has been the journey itself! I finally created a formula safe enough for my makeup brushes, has almost zero waste, the waste being the toxic ingredients in makeup going down the drain, and my favorite part is that it is better for your skin. I was so impressed by how pretty the packaging looked! It’s so different from anything in the mainstream market.
How do most people hear about your product?
I just recently did my first makers’ market, which was quite a learning experience. I plan on doing some more of those in the future. I also have my website which is the best way for people to hear about my products.
Do you have any advice for folks who are just starting out?
For anyone who is just starting out and wants to create physical products, my best advice is to go slow! One product at a time is the best way to create a company or brand.
