Today we’d like to introduce you to Alex Salomone.
Hi Alex, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I was born in Argentina and grew up relatively poor. The struggles that I faced from a young age helped me become the person I am today and would play a key role in overcoming the challenges to come. My family and I migrated to the U.S. in 1999 when I was ten years old. At first, I experienced bullying and not being able to defend, understand, and/or speak the language. It left me feeling really uncomfortable growing up. Unfortunately, I also went through a lot of traumatic moments in my young life – from being mentally, physically, and emotionally abused to having to see and deal with things that weren’t very pleasant. I experienced a lot of emotions that were difficult to deal with but was always looking to understand things in order to overcome them. All of these challenges helped me grow up with different lenses that gave me strength, perspective, and wisdom.
Fast forward to 19 years old when I decided to join the military. After coming back from living in England for six months, I felt in debt to this amazing country after everything that it had given to me and my family. Like most things in my life, I wanted to be the best, so I joined the Marine Corps where I served for six years. During that time, I was met with all sorts of new challenges. I learned so much about myself and what I was capable of. Things like discipline, commitment, courage, and perseverance were among the many tools that I learned in my time in the Marine Corps. As I progressed in my military career, my skill-sets took me into leadership positions that gave me the massive responsibility to care for the life and wellbeing of my fellow team members, ensuring that the mission was completed smoothly and effectively. I learned the power of listening, persistence, and paying attention to my team members in order to properly guide them into success.
As I transitioned out of the active duty and into the reserves, I felt lost in what I was going to do next with my life. I decided to go back to school and study sociology. I was always so intrigued by people and their behaviors. I then decided to switch my focus to business with emphasis in marketing. I was hooked! Through the power of networking and belief, I was able to get a marketing job at an agency in Los Angeles. I worked my butt off going to school full-time, working a full-time job and in the Marines part-time (reserves).
A year and a half later, I landed my dream job at Google. Even though I did not meet all the requirements, I still went for it and applied when an opportunity opened up. I showed up to my interviews with confidence and in return, I was offered a job! After almost two years in the company, I had come to terms that this was not the lifestyle or career that I was really passionate about. I started to reassess and dig into what my purpose was.
After much self-reflection on what I wanted to do with my life, I realized that my true passion was in helping people. I remember thinking back to all the times that I had helped people with advice in careers, fitness, health, and motivation to get people to go after their dreams! I had been a Life Coach all my life and I didn’t even know it. So I made the brave decision to quit Google and go after my dreams… and that’s when Bravery was born.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Becoming an entrepreneur is most definitely not an “easy” journey! Not only do you have to learn to wear multiple hats, but also constantly adjust to new strategies and continue to show up everyday regardless of the circumstances.
Some of my biggest challenges have been around understanding my relationship with my business. Creating a healthy approach that is not around the financial perspective but rather the quality of content and work.
Overall, there have been many challenges on top of personal challenges, but I show up every single day for the people who need me and for the world.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about Bravery L&H Consulting?
Bravery L&H (life & health) Consulting is a life coaching business that focuses on making impactful changes in people’s lives.
Whether it’s career/business, relationships, personal development, or health and fitness, we all have goals and ambitions in our lives that we want to achieve. What most people don’t realize is that our success comes from within us first and it’s then projected into the physical world. If we have blockages or limiting beliefs around our goals, we are not able to live our lives to our full potential. Bravery means being brave with yourself first by facing your fears and your limiting beliefs to then be able to execute with confidence and empowerment.
As an intuitive life coach, I am known for my many tools in getting to the root of the issues that are blocking you from your full potential. A healthy balance of masculine and feminine energy is something I practice to be able to get to these roots. I am also known for my guided meditation and energy work such as reiki and energy cleansing.
My message to anyone reading about Bravery/me would be this. Life is a series of choices. Choices shape our lives and understanding this is one of the most fundamental parts of life. Sometimes we make choices that take us in the wrong direction and we need someone to guide us on making better choices from there. I work with people on empowering them with the understanding of how to make the best choices for themselves. We work on rewiring the mind in a more constructive and effective way by healing and rebuilding on old wounds.
Letting go of old energy, trauma, and beliefs are crucial to mental, spiritual, and physical freedom! So make the choice to do something different for yourself by getting the guidance that you know you need.
My services vary from individual one on one coaching to group session and corporate team building, I am also available for speaker events (full details are on my website bravery-consulting.com)
What matters most to you?
Making a positive impact in the world is extremely important to me. I’ve learned that what keeps people from being at their full potential is often fear and/or pain. If we can work on educating and supporting people more in the mental health space, I believe that we can change the world for a better place.
Other important things for me are being able to help people with basic needs such as food and water. My goal is to be able to help millions of people in the 3rd world that do not have these basic needs. No one should go hungry and thirsty.
