Hidden Gems: Meet Andreia Saboya of AcuWise

Today we’d like to introduce you to Andreia Saboya

Andreia, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I believe becoming an acupuncturist was my true calling. I’ve always been drawn to the mystical and unconventional. When I discovered Bastyr University’s website, I immediately fell in love with their Master’s program in Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine. That was nearly 20 years ago! Since starting my practice in 2009, I’ve continuously explored and learned new facets of this ancient medicine. I’m also fortunate to teach Acupuncture at Pacific College, where the opportunity to educate others keeps me constantly growing and refining my skills.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
I wouldn’t say it’s been a smooth road—after all, is owning a business ever without its challenges? But I can guarantee that it’s been an incredibly rewarding journey, full of growth and personal development.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about AcuWise?
My approach to practice is a reflection of my diverse life experiences. I take pride in continually learning and delving into new aspects of the field as they arise. I’m experienced in treating complex nerve-related injuries and pain, as well as emotional disorders and trauma. The broad scope of acupuncture is something I deeply appreciate. In a single day, I might treat hormonal imbalances, chronic migraines, arthritis, frozen shoulder, and depression—such is the variety of concerns my patients bring to me.

Any big plans?
My future plans definitely involve continuing my private practice and teaching. I’m also planning a few trips to study with teachers I admire, along with considering some improvements to the clinic. And, of course, I’m figuring out how to bring a dog into the mix—because I really need a pup in my life!
