Today we’d like to introduce you to Ariel Monroe.
Hi Ariel, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstories.
I experienced an extraordinary amount of sexual and psychological traumas in my youth that endured until I was 27, when I uprooted myself from Southern New Jersey to the outskirts of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, to pursue becoming a Licensed Massage Therapist. I’m grateful to have begun my wellness journey from a young age, having learned about gratitude, the power of positivity, energy and breath work, mindfulness, meditation, intentional movement and stillness, and channeling energy into productive activities – especially in groups and community that feel safe. After my initial formal massage education (a 650-hour accredited course program) at Cortiva Institute in King of Prussia, PA in 2015, I was promptly hired by the school to be the eyes for a newly blind student while simultaneously beginning my private massage journey. I started seeing clients on location and traveling to destinations along the east coast, so I created an alternative holistic practice called Delta E.M. Wellness, LLC at the onset of the 2019 COVID-19 pandemic. I stopped seeing massage clients, became a Reiki Master; wrote and self-published a short book of poetry called ‘Liminal Illumination: A Short Book of Intentional Poetry; created and produced a socially distanced festival that can be seen on YouTube at The Virtual High Vibe Festival; created a Law of Attraction course called Ariel’s Positive Approach: It Works! on YouTube; ordained a wedding of a couple friends in New Jersey; and coached a friend through my Law of Attraction program who navigated ending a job and creating a new business called Grateful Garden, LLC in Colorado. I continue to update my website with offerings and new products.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It been extremely challenging and a mighty bumpy road with all sorts of unexpected twists and turns. First of all, I did not want to come out of my mom when it was time to be born… I was born to 2 people who very much wanted to have children but were not emotionally equipped to handle my being molested when I was 3, my nuclear family dynamics were impacted. I had undiagnosed ADHD in elementary school, undiagnosed dyslexia, and had a history of being terrible at test-taking with serious internal criticism and perfectionism running at all times. I couldn’t focus or sit still, had a hard time concentrating, and had a miserable time sleeping because I was terrified of nightmares until I was in my 20s. I realized in my late 20’s that I inadvertently attracted all the good things as well as all the bull shit that has happened in my life. I came out as non-binary at 35 and have developed a theory around human systems reacting to various [chronic] trauma in ways that feels safe and comfortable, which leads to all sorts of identity issues related to mind, body, and spirit.
Thanks – so, what else should our readers know about Delta E.M. Wellness?
I’m a Healing Artist, Expressionist, Voice Actor, and Model. Within my alternative holistic business, Delta E.M. Wellness, I engage as a Reiki Master and Reiki Master Teacher; a Licensed Massage Therapist Licensed in NJ and PA; and I’m an Ordained Minister in NJ. In the COVID-19 pandemic, I become an Independent Consultant with Arbonne as I dedicated myself to leading by example with gut health, nutrition, and skincare and a regular personal development regimen. I created a Law of Attraction program that I work through in a 21- or 90-Day program with cleints. I recently began leading workshops internationally; doing voice acting and public speaking about my life; and offer Distant Reiki every Sunday, free for groups for 30 minutes at 12pm EST on the final Sunday of the month.
I worked at 2 Philadelphia casinos between 2015 and 2020, and I became a Certified Sound Healer in 2022 after a spiritual inner growth spurt from working at The Four Season’s Crystal-Themed Hotel Spa in Center City, Philadelphia.
I was awarded Best Massage in Philadelphia by PhillyMag.com in 2019 bringing massage, reiki, and aromatherapy into people’s homes and to clients’ desired destinations.
Brand-wise, I’m most proud about projecting a future that deals with navigating change and helping people navigate those changes from the inside out.
We all have a different way of looking at and defining success. How do you define success?
I define success by the quality of care I’m able to give while simultaneously giving to my community, my family, and myself. I love spreading joy, well-being, and a positive mindset to anyone willing to consider.
