I’m Camille, a Parks and Recreation professional by day and the founder of Bylines Studio Landscape Design by night. As a landscape designer, by education & training, I’m dedicated to enhancing our connections with nature & ensuring its accessibility both in the urban environment and at home.
Bylines Studio started as my passion project, born from recognizing the need for a simpler, budget-friendly way to help homeowners with their landscape design. Utilizing professional experience & technical skills, I offer tailor-made landscape designs all through a seamless online process for homeowners, architects, and real estate investors.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Relaunching Bylines Studio at the beginning of 2024 has been an exciting but challenging journey. It hasn’t been a smooth road—I’m still learning, growing, and balancing a full-time career alongside running the business. One of the biggest challenges has been managing my time effectively. Juggling a full-time job while trying to grow my business requires a lot of discipline and careful planning, and there are days when it feels like there aren’t enough hours to get everything done.
Another struggle has been reestablishing my brand in a competitive market. With the relaunch, I wanted to refine my offerings and connect with a broader audience, but that meant facing the learning curve of new marketing strategies, including social media, online content, and finding the right collaborations.
I’ve also had to navigate the financial pressures of investing in the business while ensuring it remains sustainable. Balancing my passion for design with the practicalities of running a business has been a continuous learning process.
Despite these challenges, I’m committed to this journey. Each obstacle has pushed me to become more resilient and creative, and I’m excited to see how Bylines Studio continues to evolve.
