Hidden Gems: Meet Cristhian Cadenas

Today we’d like to introduce you to Cristhian Cadenas.

Hi Cristhian, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
As a contemporary shaman, I have been called to share my light and wisdom after walking on a similar path of those I serve. While I come from a long lineage of master healers near the Northern Coast of Peru, I endured my own share of hardships and pain before coming back to my roots. Growing up in Peru, I experienced illness, depression and poverty at a young age. I left home at 17 to come to the United States. Consumed by a need to run away from my pain, I joined the military where I served for 14 years. This time in my life consisted of long periods of darkness, hate and revenge as I was immersed in a system that encouraged violence and warfare.

A knee injury ultimately changed the course of my life. While recovering in the Wounded Warrior Battalion in Texas, I encountered so much human pain and suffering among my fellow soldiers that I could no longer deny the role I played in the destruction and chaos I witnessed around me. I wanted to create a different legacy and world for my family.

Surrounded by wounded soldiers, I began to search for answers. That is when several soul teachers appeared, including sacred plants, the work of Echkart Tolle and an oracle reader who revealed my soul’s destiny. These synchronicities helped me heal deep layers of myself and showed me how to master my masculine and feminine energies for guidance and manifestation.

My own initiation required me to come into full alignment with my purpose as a healer and shaman. This meant leaving my military career and the safety of a steady paycheck while fully trusting I would be supported. This required a leap of faith.

I embarked on an initiation with the Four Winds Society where I worked with Dr. Alberto Villoldo to deepen my knowledge of Shamanic energy practitioner medicine and cutting-edge neuroscience to bridge indigenous wisdom with the western world. This knowledge allows me to lead others through dialogue and energetic work to extract energies that create separation and perpetuate negative emotions.

After my training with Four Winds, I returned to Peru to connect with the medicine men and women known as the Q’ero to learn from the ones who have been preserving the medicine ways for centuries. By connecting with the wisdom of San Pedro, a plant medicine native to the Andes mountains, I learned how to connect with expansiveness of time and create a space for profound healing.

As a Shaman, I work with people who are ready for major shifts in their life. I create a sacred space through ceremony and ritual where to hold and guide others on an inner journey. There is never a better time than the present.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Growing up in Peru, I experienced illness, depression and poverty at a young age. We had no electricity or water many times and we witnessed a lot of terrorist acts as children by the hands of the shining path. I left home at 17 to come to the United States. Consumed by a need to run away from my pain, I joined the military where I served for 14 years. This time in my life consisted of long periods of darkness, hate and revenge as I was immersed in a system that encouraged violence and warfare. Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
The shaman addresses the energetic and spiritual aspect of “illness” through a deeply personal and profound journey into the astral or spirit world. This non-ordinary reality creates a bridge to our current realm, helping us to quickly shift our perspective, remove inner stubborn blocks and create ease and flow into our own lives.

In today’s current world, many of us are in the middle of a storm. As we navigate honoring our true nature in the constraints of a patriarchal society, the most powerful thing we can do is stay centered and rooted to the truth inside each of us. Shamanism is a path to spirit that guides you to your own destiny.

Is there anything else you’d like to share with our readers?
Redemption’s Calling I was raised to believe that mankind had no redemption. That we were born sinners and we had to live on our knees hoping that one day we would be saved so that we may not burn in a lake of fire for all eternity. I walked around the world as a victim, with no hope of having anything good happen in my life. I had been condemned before I even had consciousness of what life was, and if I did enough good things, my soul would one day be worthy of mercy. I felt like I had to carry the shame of humanity on my shoulders and that no matter what I did, my fate was predetermined for me. I was continually proven right at every moment of my life.

I spent a few months at the wounded warrior battalion feeling that somehow, we had failed our young men and women. My heart broke to see these young men and women extremely sedated and numbed. I felt like everyone was just a number and you were required to intake your medication without questioning. I saw many guys carrying big pouches of concoctions of five to ten pills they had to take several times a day. I remember one particular young man sitting in a wheelchair with his family. I could tell his wife wanted to connect with the person she knew. She was shedding tears because she could not understand where that person had gone. He seemed so distant and not there, almost as if he was looking through her and she wasn’t even present. I remember seeing the struggles of those young men and women and realizing that what we were offering to these “soldiers” was not enough. I felt like I had betrayed them and felt shame and pain for the karma I had created. Training these young men and women to “do as they are told” and “question no command given”. To shoot to kill! I remember vividly those words I said to countless young men and women in all my years as a Sergeant and Staff Sergeant. I broke down and fell to my knees thinking that I had no redemption and that I could not come back from what I have done. I spent a few weeks in bed after knee surgery pondering about my existence and where I went wrong. I came to the conclusion that the way I had lived my life was not working for me. I was willing to walk in any direction besides the one path I had been following my entire life. I started to experience something different; a change in consciousness and in my perception of daily life. I started to notice how those beliefs of doom ruled my existence and created my reality. I also started to notice how many fears and beliefs I had adopted from my parents, family members, and my hometown.

I started to monitor how much self-defeating talk was constantly in my mind and decided to change the way I saw the world.

As I started to get better with the positive self-talk and changing the way I saw the world, something magnificent happened! My reality started to change in front of my eyes, to my disbelief. The world was proving me right and I decided to continue with what I called at the time “my little experiment”

I spent a whole month monitoring very careful each thought, each word and at some point, I remember my way of thinking and seeing the world shifted in a powerful way. Things began to flow with ease and I started to be guided by many synchronistic events that would forever change my existence and the way I walked in this world. Soon after, I met two amazing teachers that helped me start to transition and transform into what I was becoming. It was not easy but one thing I know for sure is that while in the Marine Corps, I learned discipline, integrity and commitment. This was essential for the unfolding of my path and the transformation of all I was.

I was able to realize that creator had given us all the tools to experience our own freedom and that it was up to us to connect with that ancient wisdom. I studied the wisdom of my ancestors, hidden in the high Andes of Peru for centuries. It blew my lid completely open and I learned that creation is not complete. That we do have input in our lives and in our worlds, that we too can become the masters of our own destiny and that we are not victims of our circumstances. I started to understand that we can rise above anything and in the eyes of the creator, there is always redemption. I saw that the light will always be there to illuminate our path, our highest destiny as long as we are ready to claim it and show up. No matter how low we think we are, there is forgiveness. I can see now that every minute of our life, that every breath and each day is an opportunity to change who we are, who we are becoming and what our legacy will be in this world. To make a difference on what we want to leave behind for our children and our children’s children.

I call upon you to step into your luminous warrior and shine your light on everything that you touch. The time to reclaim yourself and your highest destiny is NOW. The time for your redemption and stepping into your own power is NOW.

Will you give yourself permission to claim it and own it?
