Hi Derek, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I was born and raised in the finest city in America, San Diego. Currently working towards achieving my bachelor’s degree in business with an emphasis in finance. After selling my first profitable business as an automotive detailer, I decided to discover new ways to be involved in my community. Not only employed full time as a live-in support staff for people with disabilities, but also starting my new found career helping the members of the city I grew up in turn houses into homes.
As a 22 year old first time homebuyer myself, I am looking forward to working with you and ensuring this emotional and exciting process turns into the best financial decision of your life.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
At 22, I purchased my first home, something that felt natural thanks to years of disciplined saving, smart investing, and living debt-free. On the surface, it may have looked effortless. I had the funds ready, my finances in order, and a clear vision of what I wanted. But behind the scenes, there were still hurdles such as passing my test on the first try to acquire my real estate license, navigating a competitive market, handling negotiations, and learning the process for the first time. Even so, I approached each step with confidence, made informed decisions, and moved through the process quickly. In the end, preparation turned what could have been a stressful experience into a milestone I could truly enjoy.

Looking ahead, my goal as a REALTOR® is to continue building a reputation for integrity, market expertise, and exceptional client service. I plan to expand my reach in the San Diego and Rancho Bernardo areas by leveraging data-driven marketing strategies, consistent community engagement, and a strong social media presence to connect with buyers and sellers. I intend to specialize in helping first-time homebuyers and young professionals navigate the market confidently, drawing from my own early experience purchasing a home. Over the next few years, I aim to grow my network, deepen my knowledge of local market trends, and establish myself as a trusted advisor clients return to time and again. Long-term, I envision building a team of like-minded professionals who share my commitment to client success and helping more people achieve their homeownership goals.
