Today we’d like to introduce you to Diana Celebrado, Ana Figuracion.
Hi Diana and Ana, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
Growing up I have always had a strong heartfelt passion for creating, from exploring the millions of colors as I paint to envisioning different ways I can redesign thrifted clothing, my mind is most happy when I can express my imagination through my creations. At the start of this year I had discovered a new passion, jewelry making. I found that through pieces of wire and beads came the opportunity to create limitless and beautiful designs. Often, I found inspiration from nature, Filipino culture and even childhood shows. My cousin, Ana, and I have always been inseparable for as long as I can remember and as we both discovered our passion for jewelry creating, it felt right to start our business together so that we may share our designs in hopes that others may enjoy them as much as we do.” -Diana Celebrado
“Throughout my whole life, I’ve been surrounded by arts and crafts and grown to be so fond in ways I can expand my creativity, whether it’d be through drawing, painting, journaling and even dancing. Last year in December, I found a new passion of mine, jewelry making. I only thought of making jewelry, specifically earrings, as gifts for my cousins for christmas, but it unexpectedly grew to be something much more successful that I decided to make a business out of it. At the start of this year in February, the other half of DxA and I wanted to work together into creating our own business. I can say that I am very proud of us for working hard and motivated to keep going when things are complicated”.- Ana Figuracion
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
“As making jewelry comes out of passion, the satisfaction that comes from seeing customers wear our jewelry is immensely gratifying. Yet despite being as fulfilling as it can be, running a small business alongside attending school presents many challenges and sleepless nights in attempting to balance the two. Sometimes the workload of both can be overwhelming and it feels as if there’s just not enough time in a day to finish everything!” – Diana Celebrado
“While having a business, it can be challenging to balance everything. A challenge that I have faced, since we started, is prioritizing the business, school and being able to help around my house and taking care of my little brothers. Being the second eldest and only daughter in my family, my parents expect me to be like a “second parent” to my little brothers, which can be very hard to balance at times. However, I’ve learned a lot from this and I now know how to manage my time wisely. Throughout this new journey of ours, it’s been really fun to create new designs, plan out and work with Diana.”- Ana Figuracion
Firstly, DxA Jewelry would not be what it is without my other half, Ana Figuracion. She is an outstanding cousin and hard-worker who makes running a small business just as fun as our moments playing together as children. Additionally, I was raised by my two filipino immigrant parents Dionisio Jr. and Maribel Celebrado, everyday they exemplify hard-work and strength and it is through them that I have developed the perseverance essential to overcoming any tribulations in order to accomplish my aspirations. – Diana Celebrado
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
DxA Jewelry strives to be more than just an accessory shop. In each delicately hand crafted design we hope to allow the wearer to feel every ounce of beauty that they are inside and out. Designing jewelry is not only a form of expression for myself, but it is also a way that allows the wearer to express who they are, which makes running this small business even more worthwhile. With our recent, Bayanihan Collection, we honor our Filipino culture and hope to bring representation and a shared appreciation for its beauty for all to enjoy. DxA Jewelry is all about connecting with others while staying true to ourselves.” – Diana Celebrado
Is there anyone you’d like to thank or give credit to?

I am thankful for my hardworking, supportive, and loving filipino parents, Amor and Nida Figuracion, because without them I wouldn’t be able to be where I am right now. They have helped me through this journey and have been the most understanding when I have to work on my own things.”- Ana Figuarcion
