Hi Fiona Sophia, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
My love for skincare has been a lifelong obsession, I’ve had my own share of skin issues and the struggle to find the right products and services was a journey; but thats what lead me to this amazing industry in the first place. In my search I discovered my love for Skincare and Sugaring, I was looking for something that could work with my problematic and sensitive skin and once I discovered it I made it my mission to share this wonder with my clients. Since then I’ve been hooking my clients with the best form of hair removal and the gentlest skincare approach possible.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It definitely has not been the smoothest road as many business owners know. Starting my business from zero and just jumping into the industry knowing absolutely nothing about how to run a business was definitely the hardest thing I have done. The first challenge was bringing in clients, the one thing I learned was you gotta fake it till you make it. I offered free services for content so I could make my business page look busy and make myself look more experienced. I went through days where I would only manage to bring in 2 clients a day, although sometimes that discouraged me time and patience paid off. The support from clients themselves was what gave me strength, they recommended me, left reviews and encouraged me to branch out. I built my clientele from zero and I could not have done it with all the support from my clients, friends, family and fellow beauty professionals who made me feel like I could succeed in this industry. I faked it and i made it.
As you know, we’re big fans of Siona Aesthetics . For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
I’m a CA licensed esthetician and Owner of Siona Aesthetics, I specialize in Body Sugaring Hair Removal and most known for my Brazilian Sugaring. I preform the art of the comfortable Brazilian, I prioritize quality over speed. My clients are not just a quota I have to meet by the end of the day, they are people who have stories and I take pride in having a strong and trusting relationship with them.
I’m most proud of the clients I have brought in and the rapport I have created for my business. I have seen my clients journey and I’ve seen the impact I have made and thats what makes me the proudest. Seeing their confidence grow is something incredible and its honestly what keeps me going.
I want people to know that it is possible to have a good relationship with your skin, body and hair. You don’t have to be ashamed of it. That the right services and techniques can change your life and confidence. I want people to know that its possible to have a service as venerable and intimidating as a Brazilian be a comfortable experience.

Constantly looking at the next best thing is something very important as a beauty professional. I always keep an open mind and keep in touch with many other estheticians and other sugaristas to see whats working best in the industry. You always want to find the best thing for your clients, the search is never over.
