Hidden Gems: Meet Gina Huang of Events with Gina

Today we’d like to introduce you to Gina Huang.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I started my career as an accountant, but shortly after graduating—during COVID—I decided to make a big change and move into event planning because I wasn’t happy with where my career was heading. My passion for this work began when I was studying abroad in Edinburgh, Scotland. I loved organizing trips to different cities and saw firsthand how thoughtful planning can transform an experience. That same joy and attention to detail now drive me in my work—helping clients bring their visions to life. It’s been such a rewarding journey; even with the long hours and challenges, seeing everything come together makes it worth it. I’m so much happier now, and I truly understand what it means when people say, “If you love what you do, you’ll never work a day in your life.”

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It definitely hasn’t been a completely smooth road. One of the biggest challenges was financial—when I left my full-time accounting job to pursue event planning, I had to start from scratch. I went from a stable paycheck to building my client base and experience from the ground up. There were times when making ends meet was tough, but those challenges pushed me to work harder, be resourceful, and stay committed to the career I truly wanted. Fortunately, I had a college friend already working in the wedding planning industry, which gave me the opportunity to shadow her and connect with other professionals in the field. I also volunteered with a non-profit organization early in my event planning journey, which gave me valuable hands-on experience and taught me how to plan impactful events for them as well.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
My business, Events with Gina, is a full-service wedding and event planning company dedicated to creating celebrations that truly reflect each client’s unique story. I specialize in personalized, detail-driven events—from intimate gatherings to large-scale weddings—where every element feels intentional and meaningful.
What sets Events with Gina apart is my commitment to blending organization with creativity. I don’t just check boxes; I work closely with my clients to understand their vision, anticipate their needs, and bring their ideas to life in a way that feels effortless for them but unforgettable for their guests.

Brand-wise, I’m most proud of the trust and relationships I’ve built. Many of my clients become long-term friends, and seeing their joy on the day of the event is the best reward. I want readers to know that with Events with Gina, you’re not just hiring a planner—you’re gaining a partner who will handle every detail with care, passion, and precision, so you can enjoy your special day stress-free.

So maybe we end on discussing what matters most to you and why?
Aside from work, maintaining balance in my life matters most to me. In my free time, I enjoy taking hot yoga classes to focus on my well-being. I also love spending quality time with my friends by hosting gatherings at my home with my boyfriend.
