Today we’d like to introduce you to Jess and Bre Limon.
Hi Jess and Bre, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
Fun and fashion runs in our family! Our beloved grandma sewed clothes right at home to keep her eight children smiling, laughing, and looking good even when times were tough! Our mom and her sisters were always dressed in the latest trends, and they just kind of passed that on to us!
So that’s why fashion has always been a passion of ours. We both had experience working in fashion retail, with dreams of opening our own boutique someday, but that goal seemed out of reach. Then, in 2020, we both lost our jobs due to the pandemic, and we both thought to ourselves, “Now what?”
What seemed like a misfortune was actually a blessing because we found ourselves with extra time, and that gave us the push we needed to pursue that dream of starting our business! Our launch date was March 25, 2021, what would have been our dad’s 60th birthday. He passed away 2 years ago, and we couldn’t think of a better way to honor all that he did for us- this one is for you Daddyo! We launched first as an online-only boutique, and now we have expanded to local markets. It’s been an exciting year, seeing the business grow and making customers happy!
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
The back end of it – taxes, permits, licenses, web design – was scary! We had to learn so much about running a business, and neither of us had gone to school for any of that. We were so eager to learn because we wanted to do this right, but we were blessed to find extra help along the way!
Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about 2LIMONS?
We are two sisters here to help our customers find outfits that they love! We specialize in trendy, unique pieces that you can’t find at the mall. We are known for our eye for fashion, fit, and fun! We pride ourselves in the curation of our merchandise. We make it a priority to find quality fabrics, in trendy styles, with affordable prices. When we are searching for new items to carry in our boutique, we have a saying, “If you’re not obsessed, you’re depressed.” Basically, if we don’t absolutely love it, then it’s not good enough for our customers and our brand! We have things for everybody, and nobody needs to settle.
Is there anything else you’d like to share with our readers?
We are so blessed to have the opportunity to chase our dream, and we love that we get to do it in our beautiful hometown, San Diego! It has been a wild adventure, and we can’t wait to see where it goes!
