Hi Linea, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I am a photographer at Ashton Lane Photography. My passion for photography began at the age of 14 when my parents gifted me with my first SLR camera & I was instantly hooked. I loved that photography could freeze a moment in time and allow me to save that moment forever. Photography allowed me to document special events in my family’s, friends’ and clients’ lives, document my travels (including living abroad on three occasions), and cherish memories with loved ones who have passed on. This passion eventually inspired me to turn photography into a career in 2009. I started out with weddings and portraits and now specialize in lifestyle portraiture including families, couples and personal branding photography.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Pursuing a creative career has its difficulties. In my case, it required becoming an entrepreneur which entails wearing several hats (CEO, marketing strategist, etc). There has been a steep learning curve especially when it comes to being an entrepreneur, but my love for my craft and the meaningful impact it has on others is what keeps me on the road to pursuing a career in photography.
Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I own Ashton Lane Photography, a boutique photography studio specializing in lifestyle portraiture and personal branding. I am known for capturing authentic moments that can be cherished for years to come. Photo sessions can be stressful or feel forced, but my goal as a photographer is to make it feel as natural as possible so that the moments captured on camera are a genuine representation of each family, couple, person, and brand I work with. For personal branding, my goal is to help business owners represent their brand as well as themselves, and grow the business they love. I offer different packages for on-location photo sessions as well as products such as albums, prints, metal prints, and canvases.
We all have a different way of looking at and defining success. How do you define success?
My personal definition of success is when the pursuit of your passions and dreams becomes a reality.
