Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
My Journey to Becoming an Esthetician
In 2020, when the pandemic hit and I lost my full-time job, I found myself at a crossroads, wondering, “Now what?” Living with my mother, she encouraged me to explore my long-held dream of attending beauty school. Initially hesitant about returning to school instead of job hunting, I eventually decided to take a tour at Bellus Academy.
Walking into the academy felt like a leap of faith; I knew deep down this was where I belonged. Within a week, I signed up, and my happiness soared as I began my classes and I was finally pursuing my passion.
During my training, I not only became a licensed Esthetician but also formed meaningful connections with instructors and peers who deepened my understanding of the beauty industry. After passing my state board exams, I felt an immense
sense of pride and excitement for my future.
My Evolving Journey in Aesthetics
My first job was at a waxing studio, but it didn’t take long for me to realize that my true passion lay in facials and skincare. I started working from home, promoting my services on social media. After two years of building my clientele, I opened my first studio in North Park, formerly known as Face Haven.
During this time, I also took a part-time position with a dermatologist, which significantly enriched my knowledge of treating various skin types and skincare treatments. However, I faced a setback when I had to close my first studio due to a lack of clientele. But I didn’t let that discourage me. I returned to working from home, continuously promoting my business and services while still working at the dermatologist’s office.
After a year of hard work and dedication, Prestige Beauty Aesthetics was born. I opened this new venture in 2022 at Otay Ranch Mall inside Sola Salons. Committing fully to my business, I decided to leave the dermatologist’s office and focus entirely on my growing clientele. Recently, I relocated to National City, where I continue to dedicate myself wholeheartedly to my passion for aesthetics.
Today, I strive to provide the best experience for my clients, focusing not just on facials but on building trust and helping them maintain healthy skin. I am incredibly grateful for how far I’ve come and look forward to continuing my journey as an Esthetician.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I won’t say it has been easy; it has definitely been a bumpy road, and I never expected it to be smooth sailing. Trust me, there have been moments when I’ve questioned myself and even thought about giving up. This happens even today, and I’m not afraid to share this publicly. But then I reflect on how hard I’ve worked for everything I have—emotionally, physically, and financially invested.
Being not only an Esthetician but also a small business owner comes with its own set of struggles. The responsibilities are immense; you’re not just an Esthetician—you’re your own boss. You have to create your schedule, design memorable experiences for your clients, manage inventory, invest, market, sell, and the list goes on. Building a clientele is probably the biggest challenge, which is why it’s crucial to make your work stand out. What sets you apart from others?
There’s so much that goes into it, but I wouldn’t change this journey for the world! I absolutely love what I do.

I am a Licensed Esthetician specializing in facial treatments, women’s full-body waxing, and brow enhancement. I take great pride in my expertise in the skincare field, as I can treat any skin type and help individuals achieve their skin goals through proper treatments and home care.
What truly sets me apart from others is my extensive knowledge of various advanced skin treatments and my specialization in Korean skincare-infused treatments. I am also dedicated to fulfilling my clients’ requests when it comes to addressing their specific skin concerns, ensuring that each treatment plan is tailored to their individual needs. I’m passionate about providing personalized care and ensuring that each client feels confident and beautiful in their skin.
If we knew you growing up, how would we have described you?
Growing up, I was a very adventurous and outgoing child, always eager to explore the outdoors and try new things. I had a friendly disposition, which made it easy for me to connect with others. While I could be a bit shy at times, I learned to embrace my talkative side, allowing my personality to shine through.
My interests revolved around skincare and hair, greatly influenced by my sister, who pursued a career in cosmetology. I remember the fun when she would dye my hair in different colors, and growing up experimenting with different face masks and under-eye patches, and skin care products. Those moments, filled with creativity and self-expression, fueled my passion for aesthetics and beauty.
Overall, my childhood was marked by a sense of adventure, curiosity, and a deep appreciation for the art of self-care.
