Today we’d like to introduce you to Lyda Kermani.
Hi Lyda, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Around 2015 I was going through a rough time after my parent’s divorce, and I didn’t have any tools to mentally cope. A few years later I came across a workshop called Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT or Tapping) that I had never heard of, but it was supposed to help me feel better by bringing awareness to the emotions I was feeling and thoughts I was creating. I remember right after the workshop I felt so much at ease and clarity about what I was going through and felt confident in taking my power back. That’s when I knew I had to learn more about EFT Tapping and share it with anyone that was open to it. During the same time, I was introduced to Reiki, an energy healing tool that allows the mind, body, and soul to become in harmony, which I was also unfamiliar with at the time. As I started to learn from my mentors who practiced Reiki; it allowed me to understand the energetic aspect of how our mind, body, and soul are connected. It taught me how to tap into and trust my intuition, which allowed me to become a better practitioner. Every time an opportunity presented itself to me, I took it. Here I am now about 3 years later I am a student of acupuncture, and I am teaching people how to heal themselves through tapping and Reiki, and soon integrating it with acupuncture.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The road has been a bumpy ride, to say the least. When you start to tap into your healing journey, you start to learn a lot about yourself. The more you try to ‘heal’ your wounds the more you realize how much you have been suffering, which forces you to start taking responsibility for everything that’s ever happened to you. This was a big pill for me to swallow. I had moments when I felt I wanted to give up because I started to believe that since I was doing all of this healing work, I was expecting to feel more at ease and gain a sense of freedom from my traumas but what I learned from the struggles was that life is meant to be experienced. When we hold on to the beliefs that make us feel miserable or the beliefs that allow us to feel complete bliss- both are simply experiences. However, all experiences are temporary. It becomes a struggle when we try to attach ourselves to our experiences. My struggles allowed me to accept everything that I was going through and learn to surrender and remind myself that everything I am going through is temporary so it’s better if I just kick back and go for the ride.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
I teach people how to heal themselves using EFT tapping, Reiki, and coaching. I specialize in guiding people to tap into their consciousness by becoming more aware of their thoughts and emotions so they can become more present in their daily life and believe that they are the creator of their life experiences. For example, if you experience any type of dis-ease in your mind, body, and spirit -such as anxiety, stress, brain fog, lack of self-worth, lack of confidence, and etc.; you can start to acknowledge, accept and then rewire old patterns into more powerful, positive beliefs.
What do you like and dislike about the city?
I love San Diego. It has allowed me to grow so much. I love the people, the vibe, and how calm it is compared to the other cities in California. I’ve met a lot of like-minded people here. I love how the mindset here is all about being healthy and promoting preventative health. What I like the least about our city is the traffic. I’m not surprised by the growth of San Diego because it is the best place to be, but the rush hour has been longer than normal.
