Hidden Gems: Meet Mattea Williams of Era of Mom

Today we’d like to introduce you to Mattea Williams.

Hi Mattea, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
My journey started in my early 20s. I realized I wanted to become a registered nurse in the women’s health specialty. After completing my degree, I was able to start working on the Maternal-Child Health Unit. Working on the women’s unit made me realize that I have a passion for women’s health. I was blessed to work in the south and now on the west coast. Working in different states taught me to not assume that every woman is prepared for childbirth and their postpartum recovery. That is when I decided to make a company that educated women about their postpartum recovery. My company is named Era of Mom. We aim to educate and give tips and tricks on how to navigate the postpartum experience. We have compiled a box/kit that includes all the items you need for your immediate postpartum recovery as well. I am happy with the impact I am making and hope to expand soon.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
So far, Era of Mom has not been a smooth road. I struggled with merchandising during the pandemic and finding a mentor that is familiar with my specialty.

We’ve been impressed with Era of Mom, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Era of mom is a company that was grown from a licensed Registered Nurse with lots of experience. I have worked with mothers of all ages, races, and nationalities, including the current refugees America, is housing, – even some celebrities too! All in all, every mother expresses the same concerns, worries, and pain. I want to normalize the feelings of postpartum and normalize expressing yourself loudly and proudly. I believe I stick out from most postpartum brands because of my expertise. I not only have a background in Maternal-Child Health but I am a mother too. Era of Mom is known for our postpartum kits- included are items such as pads, perineal packs, nipple cream, and more! Our kits aim to make every mother whether they are a first-time mom or not feel prepared after having their baby.

If you had to, what characteristic of yours would you give the most credit to?
Determination, consistency, trustworthiness, and confidence are what Era of Mom embodies.
