After 15 years as a Board-Certified Physician Assistant in high-volume dermatology clinics and sales-driven med spas, I learned how to earn trust in minutes while still delivering ethical, high-quality care. But the relentless pace, transactional culture, and burnout of corporate medicine took their toll. I found myself pouring everything into a broken healthcare system — building someone else’s dream at the cost of my own well-being.
So, alongside my medical director, I opened Etoile Aesthetics SD: a calm, welcoming space where clients could pursue aesthetic treatments with the kind of attentive, expert care they deserve.
Now, three years later and two providers later, we’ve had the privilege of helping hundreds of people across San Diego feel more confident in their skin — and that’s the dream we’re proud to build every day.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Starting a business — especially a medical spa — comes with its fair share of challenges. In San Diego, where it feels like there’s a med spa on every corner, I knew I had to set us apart from the “Botox mills” focused on volume and discounted prices.
From the beginning, my goal was to build a boutique practice grounded in expertise, artistry, and genuine patient care. We’ve worked hard to establish Etoile Aesthetics SD as a high-value destination, where clients receive the benefit of years of experience, a results-driven approach, meticulous attention to detail, and a highly credentialed team.
It took nearly a year of consistent effort — building our brand, fostering authentic partnerships with like-minded businesses, and growing through word-of-mouth referrals — before we really found our place in the San Diego community. But it’s been worth every challenge to create a practice that values quality over quantity and puts lasting relationships first.

Second, as a business owner, success is about creating a life with more balance. Owning my practice has allowed me the flexibility to be present for my family — something I deeply value after years in demanding clinical roles that left little room for personal life.
Finally, I see success as steady, organic growth. I’ve never been interested in chasing quick wins or rapid expansion at the cost of quality. For me, it’s about building a strong, loyal community over time — growing a business that reflects integrity, care, and genuine connection. That’s the kind of success I’m most proud of.
