Hidden Gems: Meet Nassim Wills of PRFCT

Today we’d like to introduce you to Nassim Wills.

Hi Nassim, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
Like most teens, I had my own share of skin challenges. I deeply felt the impact of how much more confident I felt when my skin was at its best – and it became a passion of mine to help others manage their skin health as best they could. After a successful 10 years in Global Business Development at Sony, and shortly after I had my first daughter, I walked into an impromptu playdate, scared that I didn’t know anyone. I almost walked out. Little did I know, that be a turning point in my career where I’d go back to my passion for skincare. That impromptu playdate was also the day I’d meet a new bestie, and my involvement in PRFCT would begin. Together, we’ve grown a very special company into an anchor of our community. It isn’t just a business, its a home that gives back to the neighborhood in so many ways.

Our mission is to optimize your skin health and beauty, so you can feel your best (and most confident) at any age). There’s so much noise in the health and beauty industry, and my sole mission in helping to shape and grow this business is to cut to the chase and cut out the nonsense. To be the anthesis to a cookie cutter chain med spa or wellness center.

Its only here, at PRFCT, where we bring together the very best in science, medicine, and artistry in a non-intimidating, honest way. Our practitioners have a natural approach to bringing out what’s already PRFCT about our clients – empowering each person with the most minimal and creative solutions to their skin, health, or wellness concerns. Hence, the name.

Its something I couldn’t be more proud to have shaped – its a place where women/men/teens can truly spend a day and walk out better off than they were. It’s only here that you can tackle skin health, weight health, spiritual health, relationship health, hormonal health and more under one roof. We’ve intentionally created each service area slowly, to ensure it is going to be the very best you can find anywhere.

I’ve been part of the PRFCT journey for a little over 6 years now. It’s been the most rewarding journey – I’ve never looked back at taking a chance and stepping away from climbing the ladder in Corporate America.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
I’d say the one thing you can count on when growing a business, is that it will not be smooth. Ever. The the one skill I’d tell anyone to develop first and foremost is to learn to have a good attitude about EVERYTHING, and embrace all the bumps. These are where the best opportunities to grow, and create, hide. In the end, when you realize we’re all here to have fun, you’ll realize that no bump in the road is too big to tackle. Bringing kindness, creativity, and a perspective of “fun” will help you solve any and all challenges.

Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I’m the COO and VP of Marketing at PRFCT and PRFCTSKIN. I’m a special mix of “career corporate girl” meets creative/resourceful/decisive/fun loving entrepreneur. I always operate from a perspective of: We’re here for a limited time, do what matters, do it as best you can (yes, I’m absolutely Type A), do it from a place of kindness, and have the best time possible! What makes me unique is that I’m completely comfortable with no two days looking alike. As my old colleagues would say, “she get’s sh*t done” – and this couldn’t be more true. I’ll take an idea that popped in my head in the shower, and make it real from start to finish. Had I not been in Corporate America all those years, I’d say the day to day challenges of growing a smaller business would feel heavier. Instead, I operate from a place of gratitude – every day that I get to work with the kindest most hardworking women, in the most most beautiful space imagineable, nurturing a business designed to help people feel more confident in their skin is basically the best day ever.

We’d be interested to hear your thoughts on luck and what role, if any, you feel it’s played for you?
Did you wake up this morning? If the answer is yes, then you are lucky. We are all lucky in life at some point or another, its what we do with that luck comes down to the individual and where they take it. Luck is like planting a seed. If you recognize its value and that it can grow, you have the power to make it lead to amazing things. Or, you can leave it where it was planted and do nothing – no one will ever know it was there, and the world will go on.

In general, I don’t believe in luck as much as I believe in timing and what you do with it. There’s good timing, and there’s bad timing. Did I meet an amazing women at that playdate when my daughter was 6 months old. Yes. That was lucky! But did I take the time to connect with her, learn about this little business that she’d started, and slowly get involved to the point that I was too invested to not eventually be a part of the business myself? Absolutely.

A little tidbit….my first two jobs/internships in college came from meeting people on airplanes. I happened to sit next to my first two bosses on an airplane. Many of my friends searching for work and going to career fairs said “OMG you’re soooo lucky!” But was that luck? Sometimes we forget we’re all people, and that opportunity (or luck) could be staring you right in the face – not on a dating app, LinkedIn, or a career fair. There is certainly an over reliance on apps/devices….we must infuse the human connection back in our lives.
