Today we’d like to introduce you to Nicole Ammon.
Hi Nicole, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
Customer Service has always been a passion of mine. Throughout everything I’ve done over the years, I have always loved helping people (Women) feel their best. I am a hairstylist and I love getting to know my clients and helping them feel and look their best. So, it was a natural transition helping Women feel and look their best through clothing as well. My mom owns a boutique in Point Loma, called Branches & Blossoms. I have enjoyed helping her with her shop so much over the years, I thought “Why not open my own”? So that’s what I did. Today you can find my boutique inside Mojave Style House salon in La Mesa. I have curated a collection of clothing that is great quality, affordable, & on-trend. We focus on fit and if you come in to shop, we always love helping our customers find items that would be just right for them.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It’s been an interesting last few years for us all I would say. Juggling motherhood and entrepreneurship can be a challenge. Figuring out a perfect balance where I can be there for my family and be successful will always be a work in progress. I will continue to learn and grow along with my business and my family.
Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Sagebrush Boutique is a clothing and gift shop located in La Mesa, CA. I am the buyer as well as owner of the shop so I have hand-selected all items in my shop. I know how every piece in the shop fits and what will work best for each customer. I pride myself in creating a space where women can come to shop and find pieces they love and that they feel great in. I am an average-size woman (I wear a size 12) and in my shop I wear a size large, (in most everything) That gives people a good gauge of how my sizing works. I’m so proud to be able to offer an excellent level of service to women and a fun shopping experience. I’m located in the loft at Mojave Style House Salon. It’s a gorgeous huge salon and I’m so proud to be a part of the Mojave family.
We’re always looking for the lessons that can be learned in any situation, including tragic ones like the Covid-19 crisis. Are there any lessons you’ve learned that you can share?
Yes absolutely. I think the most important lesson I learned during Covid is that I need to prioritize my family and kids first 100% of the time. I always thought I did put my kids first, but when both parents are working and life gets so busy and crazy, that time forced us to slow down and remember what is important. The boutique allows me to have the time I need to be involved in my kid’s school and sports.
