Hi Paloma, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
The Sweet Co. was born from my passion for creating desserts that are not only delicious but also memorable experiences. I started small, selling Brazilian style crepes at local farmers markets in San Diego. People quickly fell in love with the concept, and from there I expanded into catering for private events, weddings, and corporate gatherings. Today, The Sweet Co. is known for our signature Walking Cannoli Bar and a variety of dessert stations, from açaí bowls to chocolate-covered strawberries. What started as a single idea has grown into a company that brings joy and elegance to events all across Southern California and now we’re excited to keep expanding and sharing these sweet experiences with more people
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road. Like many small business owners, we faced challenges with logistics, staffing, and the high costs of operating in California. At the beginning, it was just me, doing everything , from cooking to designing the packaging and setting up at farmers markets. There were also moments of doubt, especially during slower seasons or when navigating permits and regulations. But every challenge taught me how to be more resourceful and creative. Those struggles shaped the way The Sweet Co. operates today , more resilient, innovative, and focused on delivering unforgettable experiences to our clients
