Hidden Gems: Meet Peter Porr of Cravo Marketing

Today we’d like to introduce you to Peter Porr.

Hi Peter, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
Kierstie and I had the “proper” career beginning: both graduated college and got corporate jobs with huge companies. Despite having great jobs, that did not fulfill us. Coming from families that were provided for through entrepreneurship, we know how important small and medium businesses are. After working for years at these large corporations, we realized how smaller businesses are at a disadvantage. That is why we started Cravo – to provide all-encompassing marketing at a great value. We understand that small and medium businesses are more than just a building and a balance sheet. We realize that Cravo’s successful marketing campaigns will not only boost businesses, but they will result in little Johnny getting those guitar lessons he wanted, allow a family to take that summer trip. or even help give back to the community by hiring more employees. That is why we are so passionate about helping small and medium businesses grow; because we know we are truly helping people thrive.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
We started Cravo in the middle of 2020. The COVID-19 pandemic was in full-blown effect. Many businesses were shutting down or scaling back. Owners were trying to save every dollar they could. The safe thing was to stay in the corporate world and get a steady paycheck. But challenges would always be there. If we don’t start our own company now, then when? If not us, then who? We took a leap of faith and continued, one step at a time, to build something we are proud of. Every setback has offered an opportunity to learn and grow. It is not an easy road, but it is a rewarding one. Acquiring clients has been the biggest hurdle for us. But we are proud to say that every client we acquired is still with us, and more importantly, we have expanded the services we provide to every single one of them. Everything you have ever wanted is on the other side of fear. Obstacles or mistakes are not bad – they are learning lessons. Dedicate yourself to your craft, hustle hard and trust that if you want something bad enough, you can make it happen. Don’t play it small; this is not your practice life.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
Cravo marketing is a full-service boutique marketing agency. Cravo started with one goal in mind: to provide exceptional marketing services at a great value. With over 80 years of combined experience, our marketing agency has more than a dozen results-driven professionals with expertise in virtually all areas of marketing. We offer everything from web and graphic design to SEO, paid ads and email marketing. We always strive to WOW the customer. We provide services that will be both aesthetically pleasing and efficient in their objectives. Everything we deliver will be unique to our customers, just like their businesses are to them. We pride ourselves on not being pushy. We love talking to prospective customers, see if there is a good match between both sides. With that in mind, we have always been honest about everything. That does not result in Cravo converting all the leads, but the ones we do have been with us a long time.

Are there any books, apps, podcasts or blogs that help you do your best?
I signed up for a bunch of Adobe’s newsletters and email lists. I love the creativity that can be brought to life with their products. I am always aware of the latest updates, so we can provide our clients with the freshest designs. I also pay close attention to any new developments regarding Google’s SEO, Google Ads and Analytics, since it impacts so much of Cravo. When I am driving, I like to listen to a podcast called “The School of Greatness.” It has a bunch of inspiring stories from huge celebrities to your normal supermom and dad. One common point that I love to hear over and over is that real success is having a loving family and being able to make a difference in the world by helping those in need.
