Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
Before starting Tracking System Direct, I worked for a Chicago-based technology company that manufactured hardware designed to optimize fleet management. Seeing the demand for consumer and business-grade vehicle management solutions and with an extensive background in online marketing and Search Engine Optimization (SEO), I transitioned back to San Diego where I launched Tracking System Direct. The philosophy and business model was simple: provide cost-effective GPS trackers to anyone who wanted to safeguard or manage mobile assets.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
As any entrepreneur would attest, the road to success is never a smooth one. Bumps should be expected in the forecast from day one until the last day. Although creating a company culture and set of values might be easy on paper, executing those ideals in a way that enhances the customer experience while making the company profit are many times not symbiotic. There are challenges in every way, shape, and form, but the most important factor in resolving obstacles is pausing, evaluating each individual situation, and not rushing into things. Many times the swiftest reaction is the wrong reaction, and that is probably a good metaphor for both life and business.

Can you tell us more about what you were like growing up?
I grew up in Southern California with a passion for music, art, and design. I never had ambitions of being an entrepreneur at a young age, but it was clear very early on that I did not fit well into the public education system. That meant I was probably not going to follow the traditional roads people travel in terms of employment. I recall always being bored in class and would channel that boredom into drawing, writing, and creating things I found interesting. I still believe the education system has many fundamental flaws and is designed in a way to not help kids reach their highest and fullest potential.
