Today we’d like to introduce you to Sara Parant
Hi Sara, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
My journey into the world of baby clothing began with the birth of my daughter. As a new mom, I quickly realized how frustrating it was to deal with snaps, zippers, and tedious buttons during countless diaper changes. Inspired by the challenge of finding the perfect balance between comfort and convenience, I set out to create something better. Building the business was a blend of creativity and strategy, transforming initial design ideas into a solid e-commerce foundation while navigating the complexities of the manufacturing process and all the essential business aspects in between. My vision fully came to life when I launched Peasy Co. in 2019, just a few months after my son was born.
Juggling a newborn and a growing toddler provided me with real-world insight into what busy parents need. I wanted baby clothes to be simple for parents, soft and snuggly for babies, and cute without the hassle.
Peasy Co. was born from this vision, offering ultra-soft clothing designed to make parents’ lives easier. We focus on creating cozy outfits that eliminate the need for snaps and buttons, making diaper changes fast and fuss-free.
My children were my first little product testers. If they weren’t comfortable or if it wasn’t easy to dress them, I went back to the drawing board. Although launching a business during COVID brought significant obstacles—such as managing inventory and building a brand from scratch alone at home—I relied on the support and advice of fellow moms and entrepreneurs virtually across the country. Their collaboration and inspiration were invaluable as I navigated the challenges of entrepreneurship, especially in those early days.
Today, Peasy Co. has gained recognition for its innovative no-snap, minimalistic design that prioritize comfort and ease for both babies and parents. Looking ahead, I’m excited to continue expanding our offerings to meet the needs of families everywhere while emphasizing simplicity in our otherwise hectic lives. Peasy Co. is sold online and in boutiques around the U.S. and internationally.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Launching Peasy Co. during the COVID pandemic came with its fair share of challenges, including supply chain disruptions and new hurdles to navigate. However, my business also provided an outlet during uncertain times and instilled hope for the future.
Building a business from scratch while raising two small children was another significant challenge. Balancing the needs of a newborn and a toddler while trying to establish a new brand was overwhelming at times, leading to many late nights and moments of doubt. I leaned heavily on advice from other moms and entrepreneurs who had navigated similar paths. Their stories of resilience inspired me and reminded me that we were all learning as we went along. This journey taught me to be more patient, adaptable, and willing to pivot when necessary, helping me embrace the uncertainties. The support of other moms and entrepreneurs made all the difference, especially in those early days.
Finding the right partnerships for Peasy Co. has also been a journey. Not every collaboration has worked out as I hoped, but I’ve learned that letting go of those mismatches is part of the process. Each time I’ve had to start over, I’ve emerged stronger and with a clearer sense of what aligns with my brand.
There’s so much that goes into running a business that you don’t see from the outside—countless hours spent researching market trends, sourcing suppliers, navigating the complexities of inventory and shipping logistics, and fine-tuning branding strategies. As we continue to grow, we’re always evolving, adapting to new challenges, and embracing fresh ideas. It’s all about being resilient and flexible, and now I feel more confident in building connections that truly resonate with my vision and support my community.
We’ve been impressed with www.peasyco.com, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Owner/creator at Peasy Co.
What matters most to you?
At the heart of Peasy Co., and in everything I do, is a desire to connect with other parents. Parenthood can be chaotic, and I believe that simplifying even small parts of our lives can make a big difference. What matters most to me is creating products that ease the everyday struggles for parents, offering a sense of simplicity in an otherwise hectic world.
I’m also deeply committed to the idea of minimalism. This doesn’t just apply to the designs of our clothes, but to the way we approach life. Less clutter, fewer complications, and a focus on what truly matters: comfort, convenience, and connection. Sustainability and ethical practices are also key elements of our brand. From the fabric we use to the manufacturers we partner with and the packaging we choose, I strive to make responsible decisions that positively impact the environment.
By creating thoughtful, practical designs that remove unnecessary details like snaps and buttons, I hope to give parents one less thing to worry about so they can focus on enjoying the moments that matter with their children. For me, it’s not just about selling clothes—it’s about offering solutions that reflect the value of simplicity and sustainability, helping other parents live more intentionally.
