Today we’d like to introduce you to Stacy Thomson.
Hi Stacy, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
Phoenix Rising Marketing & Entertainment reflects how I build—through clarity, discipline, and innovation.
Earlier in my career, I took a calculated leap on San Diego.
What began as a LinkedIn message about a job in another city escalated quickly: an interview within minutes, a previously scheduled flight moved up to leave in a few days, and a life-changing decision was made on the spot.
I had accepted a six-month contract in a new city, agreeing to start in two days.
That leap turned into a nearly fourteen-year career at a Fortune 500, industry-leading corporation, where my time was marked by steady growth, expanding leadership responsibility, and the opportunity to build and innovate at scale.
That experience shaped how I work today.
I thrive at the intersection of strategy, creativity, and innovation—building narratives that move people, supported by campaigns and systems that actually work.
Phoenix Rising emerged as a modern marketing consultancy built to innovate.
It brings clarity where complexity had taken over—prioritizing integration over fragmentation, discipline over noise, and long-term brand equity over short-term wins.
Today, I partner with founders, growth-stage teams, and select brands that value thoughtful growth—organizations seeking cohesion between story, strategy, and performance rather than disconnected tactics.
At its core, the work is grounded in a simple belief: when strategy, execution, and measurement are designed to reinforce one another, clarity follows.
And with it, momentum and durability.
That’s where enterprise-level marketing innovation becomes accessible to small businesses, bold brands, and visionaries ready to take that leap and build what’s next.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Like many founders, I’ve navigated periods of uncertainty, shifting priorities, and moments where the path forward wasn’t immediately clear.
Those moments reinforced the importance of systems thinking, adaptability, and consistency.
One of the less visible challenges of building a new business foundation is learning to define your narrative while still in motion—balancing reflection with forward progress.
The foundation required intention: evaluating what worked, what no longer fit, and what needed to be redesigned from first principles.
It meant revisiting past successes without being anchored to them, seeking perspective from trusted peers and mentors, and continuing to learn through coaching, coursework, and experimentation.
That process shaped not only Phoenix Rising, but how I approach growth overall—deliberately, collaboratively, and with a commitment to continuous learning.
In overcoming obstacles, I’ve learned:
Progress isn’t linear—and failure is rarely failure.
Every experience provides data, if you’re willing to study it honestly.
When insight is extracted and applied with intention, growth becomes inevitable.
The real risk isn’t getting it wrong—it’s refusing to learn.
Three principles guide how I build today:
Clarity compounds.
When standards and direction are defined, external noise loses its power.
Rebuilding is not a solo act.
Growth accelerates through perspective, mentorship, education, and collaboration.
Growth requires service.
Giving knowledge back—teaching, sharing, and paying it forward—is part of the cycle.
At its best, the work becomes cyclical:
Learn.
Build.
Refine.
Teach
—and rise again.
As you know, we’re big fans of Phoenix Rising Marketing & Entertainment. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
Phoenix Rising Marketing & Entertainment is a strategic marketing consultancy focused on building integrated, scalable marketing ecosystems for modern brands—designed for clarity, durability, optimization, and scale.
The work is grounded in enterprise experience and reinforced through continued executive education, including certification through Harvard’s Professional & Executive Development program.
Engagements center on designing systems where strategy, execution, and measurement reinforce one another.
This helps teams move from fragmented efforts to cohesive, performance-driven growth.
The work spans brand strategy, campaign architecture, content systems, analytics, operational design, and performance infrastructure.
Rather than operating as a traditional agency, Phoenix Rising serves as a strategic partner—building frameworks and operating rhythms clients can grow into over time.
A flagship example of this approach is Freestone Homes Montana, a luxury residential development in Missoula, Montana.
The engagement required a full digital ecosystem rebuild spanning brand positioning, website optimization, SEO, analytics infrastructure, creative, content, and conversion architecture.
The goal was to clarify value, differentiate within a competitive market, and support sustainable growth.
Within weeks of launch:
+216% page views
+128% new users
−21% bounce rate, reflecting improved buyer clarity
Top 1–3 SEO rankings with sustained qualified engagement
The result was not just growth, but a cleaner, more intelligible buyer journey supported by a unified analytics foundation that enables informed decision-making and continued optimization.
Where do you see things going in the next 5-10 years?
Over the next several years, marketing and innovation will become more accessible—but also more complex.
AI is accelerating that shift. According to the 2025 AI Index Report, nearly 80% of organizations have adopted AI in some part of their business operations, and most leaders expect that investment to increase.
As a result, more people and smaller teams now have access to tools that once required large agencies or enterprise infrastructure.
That’s a positive evolution.
However, access to tools doesn’t automatically translate into clarity or results.
As platforms multiply, the challenge becomes less about capability and more about cohesion.
Tools don’t naturally work together, and experience still matters when it comes to designing systems that align strategy, storytelling, data, and decision-making.
Some of the biggest shifts ahead aren’t about replacing people with AI.
They’re about using technology to support better judgment, stronger narratives, and more intentional growth.
That intersection—where experience, integration, and innovation come together—is exactly what Phoenix Rising Marketing & Entertainment was built to address.
