Hi Stephanie , can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
Blooming Villa Coordination was a dream that began when I started as a server/busser for Mexico City Cuisine. My husband and I were blessed with the news of becoming parents in 2020 with a due date of July 2021. However with COVID still being a predominant issue, we discussed how we would stay afloat and make a decent living for ourselves. We both worked in the wedding and event industry and took a financial hit. Therefore the news of being parents was both exciting and terrifying. We decided I would go back to school, I would receive financial help from the school and be able to stay home and raise my baby without daycare. It only took two years to get an associates degree in Hospital Management. I graduated in 2023 and began the process to start my business. This business opportunity would allow me to work in the insurance I loved. I would help couples bring their visions to life and make their dream come true all while celebrating the love that brought them together. I was also able to spend the most crucial developmental years with my daughter. I had the freedom to create my own schedule. It was the best decision we could have decided as a family and it significantly changed our future.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Starting a business from the bottom up has not been the easiest road. I would say the first few years were very stressful and most of the time, I felt like giving up. Being a first time mom and a first time business owner had many challenges and doing both at the same time was overwhelming. My husband was luckily enough to get paternal leave for the first month, but he returned to work after and I had to quickly adjust to balancing all aspects of my life at once. I had to learn how to file an LLC, how to do my business taxes, how to create a website, how to market my business simultaneously while learning how to change diapers, breastfeed, learn how to read baby signs to comfort my baby while running on 3 hours of sleep. It has been very challenging, but I knew I needed to continue and learn to work past the struggles in order to reap through the benefits of my hard-work.

What do you like best about our city? What do you like least?
I love that our city is how most businesses are so eager to welcome new businesses. We recognize that we have a huge market and competition, but there is room for everyone. I think what I like least is the cost of living! It is absolutely ridiculous and this was also a major factor that contributed to our decision in starting my own business. The jobs that interested me simply couldn’t provide the financial stability I desired. Therefore, by creating my own business, I would be able to stay home with my daughter, have freedom and control over my schedule, and being able to receive a better financial earning.
