Tiffany, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I was born & raised in Hawai’i with amazing parents, who were present for every school event, game, performance & important milestone. My dad coached me in various sports & my mom was team mom, classroom mom, committee chair, chaperone, etc. I knew in my early 20’s that I wanted to be present for my family the same way my parents did & I quickly realized in order to have the freedom & flexibility to do so, I couldn’t do it as an employee. That’s what got me to start thinking about business ownership.
Over the years I have built a very diverse resume. I’ve been a teacher’s assistant, volleyball coach for a club team & high school team, retail store manager & worked in the corporate world. The positions I held as an employee gave me experience & knowledge in management, sales, marketing, advertising, training & development, scheduling, payroll, customer service, inventory management, conflict resolution, strategic planning, company culture, systems, CRM’s & more. I believe God orchestrated my employment history as training for business ownership.
In 2011 I established SGI Business Solutions, LLC as a dba for a franchise that I bought into. This was my first experience as a business owner. During my franchise years, I learned business on steroids. I assisted individuals with transition from employee to entrepreneur. As I showed my clients opportunities, I learned about operations, systems, marketing, funding, personality tests, you name it, for over 200 different business models. Technically once I placed clients into business, my job was done, but I didn’t stop there. I assisted clients with business services, connected them with commercial real estate agents, helped them launch & more! During my franchise year, I would offer anyone who asked for help on business ownership an hour of my time. As I met with various people, I saw a pattern with the questions that they asked & the information I was providing. This led me to create SGI’s Business Foundation Worksheet & SGI’s Daily Tracker which would end up being significant business tools for SGI.
Franchising led me to business coaching & over the years I have diversified my business to include services in financial services, legal services & health & wellness products. My very first business coaching client was based in California. I also went to University of San Diego, have family & friends in California & have done business in California so I decided to get expand my financial services by being licensed in California. I am based in Hawai’i, but I do business in Hawai’i & California.
I have been blessed with clients in the restaurant business, real estate, social media, financial services, jewelry, health & wellness, photography, accounting, cleaning services, macrame, baby clothes, food services & more. I’ve helped clients turn hobbies into lucrative businesses, negative cash flow to positive cashflow, improved clients’ quality of life by helping them accomplish their dreams – personally & professionally.
In 2017, I was burnt out & was planning to stop business coaching altogether. I started to tell clients that I was no longer going to offer business coaching & one client of mine told me “Why? You’re so good at it.” It was that moment that changed everything for me. I realized that business coaching is how God has asked me to use my spiritual gift. It’ my calling, but I didn’t see it as anything special at the time. This shift allowed me to see that my skills weren’t as common as I originally though. I saw how important business coaching is & decided to change my coaching program to be better & keep me from burning out. Since then, I realized that I am called to UNLEASH women in business ownership. With my renewed mindset, I decided to specialize in women owned businesses in 2018. I have a heart for empowering women & it was time for me to focus on who God has given me a heart for.
When Covid hit, I prayed & asked God to show me how to thrive during the pandemic. God asked me to be a Christ-centered business coaching. As a result, in 2019 I started my business coaching sessions with teaching women how to find their identity in Christ with my “Love & Like Yourself Worksheet”. This would later turn into the Love & Like Yourself Journal which was launched in 2023. This is a project that I have been working on for over 12 years. I had no clue that God was having me create a book.
The Love & Like Yourself Journal is a workbook that walks women through a series of questions that helps them find their identity in Christ (aka love & like yourself physically, mentally, spiritually, emotionally & financially by seeking God first), heal from their past, forgive themself, identify their Spiritual Gift & seek God for clarity on His “Big Vision” for their life. The purpose of the Love & Like Yourself Journal & Coaching Program is to UNLEASH women in business ownership, but all women can benefit from the journal…whether they have the desire to be a business owner or not.
Shortly after I launched the Love & Like Yourself Journal, I launched the Love & Like Yourself Coaching Program for women who want to work on personal development to get the courage & confidence to start their own business or for female business owners who are feeling insecure & unsure about what God wants them to do with their business.
I’ve had SGI Business Solutions, LLC for 13+ years & I feel like I’m just getting started. It’s been a wild ride of ups & downs & wins & loses. No matter how hard my journey has been, walking in my calling & being able to impact women in a powerful, life-changing way is TOTALLY WORTH IT! I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
This has absolutely not been a smooth road. I’ve lost count of the times I’ve questioned myself about being a business owner & considered going back to the corporate world. Every time I asked God about getting a job, He said “no”, so I kept pushing through.
The hardest part about being a business owner is you don’t know what you don’t know. In the beginning, you don’t know how hard you need to work or what you need to do to be successful. It’s truly a trial & error journey.
I made so many mistakes in my first 3 years of business. I was busy, but not productive. I got distracted with networking, family, friends & volunteering instead of focusing on building my business with consistency in revenue generating activities, marketing & advertising.
Later, I got comfortable with referrals & stopped networking which eventually caught up with me & put my business in a tough position. I’ve had products fail to launch in the “12th hour”, been burned by vendors, business associates & clients. I’ve had to rebrand, change, adjust, shift & level up my business multiple times.
Each failure led to wisdom & knowledge of how to do better & be better. Each setback put me in a situation to build perseverance & strength. Every hardship gave me understanding, knowledge, wisdom & empathy for my past, current & future clients. It’s allowed me to relate to my clients in a way that makes them feel safe, without judgement & full of hope.
Ultimately, my obstacles, challenges & failures have taught me to surrender my business to God. I’ve learned to let Him lead & seek Him for EVERYTHING!

What was your favorite childhood memory?
This is a really hard question to answer because I have been blessed with an amazing childhood. I don’t have one specific childhood memory, but if I have to try & pick one, I would narrow it down to BIRTHDAYS!
My parents went all out for my birthdays growing up. Birthday parties often included a huge tent in the back yard with rows of tables & chairs, entertainment, balloons, candy & a lot of ono (which means delicious) food. These parties included my classmates, teammates, family & friends.
Birthdays are my favorite childhood memories because they were always filled with so much joy, laughter & love. I never liked being the center of attention, so birthdays were about making sure everyone in attendance was having a good time. Being able to see all my friends & family together in one place, having fun, while eating good food, was the real blessing & why birthdays are my favorite.
