Today we’d like to introduce you to Vihil H. Vigil. Them and their team share their story with us below:
The Empowerment Empire™ and all of our programs improve the lives of women & children through education, opportunity, elevation, and collaboration. To empower Women of Diversity to RISE through professional development & business ownership, The Empowerment Empire in turn contributes to the decrease of global domestic violence against women.
The story behind the Empowerment Empire began as a response to my very own experience with escaping domestic violence, sexual assault, and experience with military-related PTSD. My goal is to provide the opportunity, especially to women who have experienced domestic violence, PTSD, and assault, to thrive via trauma-informed professional development and business coaching. By attending Empowerment Empire online and in-person programs women are able to benefit from the lived experience of my life including my education, training, community building, and leadership experience.
Professional development skills such as project management public speaking professional leadership to the development of business ownership skills such as setting up core business foundations, creating strategic development and strategic marketing plans, collectively collaborating with one’s community to establish and grow an organization.
Determined to utilize all of my professional and personal experience, education, and training to be a resource for women who feel they have none.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It has not been a smooth road. Through moving to several new locations to start a new life to avoid the trap of homelessness, battling depression and anxiety, the loss of my grandmother, our family’s inspirational matriarch and my best friend to COVID all through working to build my women’s empowerment organization, and being a single mom, it has not been an easy path. But what has kept me going is this passion for being a mom able to support my little girl to make her dreams come true while inspiring other women to do the same. Never giving up has been the cornerstone of my approach.
We’ve been impressed with Empowerment Empire™, LLC, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
The Empowerment Empire began as a group of women gathering together to learn how to start and grow a business. I didn’t know how to do that but I could cook so I made brunch and invited women to join me in sharing their lives and business building experiences. I looked into my community and identified women who were an inspiration to me and invited them to share their stories and to chat to share their businesses and their offers to a crowded room of eager learners.
From this experience, I realize these phenomenal stories needed to be shared on a broader scale so I started to put them into a magazine for posterity the magazine is now called Magistra Magazine and is now in its 8th issue published quarterly. Magistra is Latin for woman teacher.
As I began to learn I found my direction to wanting to be a women’s empowerment business coach. So, from this I became certified as a holistic health coach and began to utilize my business experience to start building my own programs to educate and inspire women wanting to build a business to take care of their family. Most of the clients I work with are single moms as well.
Our small gatherings that began as a brunch meeting have now turned into quarterly Power Luncheons, held primarily in person but also occasionally online, I am proud to now be one of the presenters and no longer the cook!
I am most proud of the mantra of our business, through collective collaboration we all rise! Because by working together and creating a group that inspires women, we are able to truly reach the goal of providing empowerment services and business development services to women wanting to follow their dreams of business ownership. By partnering with many other organizations and individual business women leaders we are finding that success.
What were you like growing up?
Growing up I was always a knowledge seeker spending much of my time reading books to gain knowledge. I wrote my first book in elementary school which sparked a passion in me for storytelling. I became the family historian to learn as much as I could about my family history. I expressed myself in countless drawings and endless journals that I still have today. When I was introduced to photography, I found an outlet that I truly embraced and then grew to telling the story of families as a portrait and wedding photographer for the early part of my adult life. My parents were always phenomenal in encouraging me to pursue my goals and dreams. I took extra art and science classes in school to learn how things worked and expressed that in my art. I was introduced to paints in high school and began painting large canvases a passion I still visit when I am looking for opportunities to reflect and explore my thoughts. This has manifested into creating vision board workshops for women so I can share that creative aspect of my personality with others.
Growing up I loved getting the family together! I would put together salsa competitions so everyone would want to participate and make our family summer BBQs a priority to attend. I’m an only child but have a pretty good-sized extended list of cousins, many of whom are also great cooks. This draw of a competition oftentimes was the incentive to inspire my cousins to want to come. I think this experience led me to creating the Power Luncheons & Business Brunches. Inspiring women professionals and entrepreneurs by offering the experience of connection, education, and inspiration over great food is the draw of the program, not to mention our signature gift bags and guided networking over Cake, Coffee & Conversations where we get to know everyone in attendance, learn about their businesses, their offerings and getting a grasp on what they need so we can connect them with the resources they need instantly.
In asking my parents what I was like growing up their words were serious, interested in creating fun for others and not wanting to get dirty! Haha which resonates today! I like to put together fun gatherings but I like them to be neat and orderly. Except when it came to art that was the time messiness often reigned!
