Inspiring Conversations with Anshika Bagla of Let’s Tidepool!

Today we’d like to introduce you to Anshika Bagla.

Hi Anshika, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I’ve been in love with the ocean since I was a kid – growing up in Los Angeles, I was never far from the ocean. As I grew up, I’ve spent so much time volunteering/working at aquariums, and I’ve realized just how much I love learning about the ocean and helping other people do the same. This passion led to me starting my own tidepooling company, so I can take groups of people out to explore their local ecosystems

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
As with any small business, challenges are part of the adventure, right?

Starting a tidepooling company means working with nature, and nature doesn’t always cooperate. Weather, tides, and safety logistics have all presented challenges along the way. In the beginning, getting the word out and building trust in such a niche outdoor experience took time and persistence. But each tidepool tour has reinforced why I started this in the first place: to share the wonder of the ocean’s hidden worlds. The struggles made the successes that much more meaningful

As you know, we’re big fans of Let’s Tidepool!. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
Let’s Tidepool is a small outdoor adventure company with the goal of connecting locals and visitors to their ocean neighbors. When we run tours, we teach people how to interact with the ocean in a way that is safe for us and the animals, and we highlight a respect for the animals. We love to teach people about the cool animals they can find in their ocean backyards and how they are important to the greater San Diego ecosystem. Let’s Tidepool is all about inspiring ocean explorers.
