Inspiring Conversations with Ashlee Gendron of AG Physical Therapy

Today we’d like to introduce you to Ashlee Gendron

Ashlee , we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I have been a Physical Therapist for 13 years now and started my career in outpatient orthopedics. After I had my 2 children, I began my journey in pelvic floor therapy, secondary to my own struggles and post partum issues. I started my own mobile business officially 2 years ago, so I could make pelvic floor therapy easily accessible to women (especially mothers). I chose to be an out of network provider (aka cash based) for freedom to treat how I wanted and for as long as I wanted. I have a whole body holistic approach and evaluate a person from head to toe, including the pelvic floor.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
My biggest obstacle is marketing. If I could giveaway my services for free, I would. As I want women to have the resources and care they deserve. However, I also have to provide for my family so marketing and networking have been challenging. I know it’s a process and I personally lean towards word of mouth, gaining credibility with my clients over time.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
I am a mobile orthopedic and pelvic health specialist. I travel to the comfort of a patients home with all necessary supplies for a whole body and pelvic floor evaluation. My specialties include, but aren’t limited to (diastasis recti, post partum recovery, birth and labor prep, pelvic organ prolapse, hip and pelvic pain, painful intercourse, urinary/fecal incontinence, back and hip pain.
I also believe a multidisciplinary approach is key to a person’s rehabilitation. So I have built a great network of providers to refer my patients to, depending on their needs and goals.

We’d be interested to hear your thoughts on luck and what role, if any, you feel it’s played for you?
I wouldn’t necessarily say luck has helped me, but more so,certain unexpected events have lead me in different directions. Different people relationships (good and bad) within the industry have helped shape my pathway and made my mission more clear.
