Today we’d like to introduce you to Brenda Gazzar.
Hi Brenda, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Six years ago, my friend Michael Djavahery, a Certified Clinical Hypnotherapist, gave me several hypnosis sessions to help me overcome my fears about participating in a Spartan obstacle race. Although I had never participated in any kind of run or race before, I credit Michael and my athletic trainer for helping me shift my identity from someone who was physically weak to someone who is physically strong and capable. Not only did I complete the race that included trudging up muddy and slippery hills in the rain, I had a blast! My career as a Certified Master Hypnotist didn’t begin however until one year ago when I had an excruciating injury at Laguna Beach in Southern California. During a Jewish Near Year’s ritual in the cool ocean waters, moments after I had vowed to step into a more powerful version of myself, the bottom of my right foot was torn open by a stingray’s barbed and venomous tail. I had no idea as to the source of my debilitating pain until after I had completed the ceremony and miraculously drove myself to urgent care. As I was taking it easy the next day in my condo, I noticed an email come through about a masterclass for hypnosis. I decided to join, and ended up winning a free one-on-one session with Dom The Hypnotist. During that session, I realized that hypnosis was exactly what I needed to step into a more powerful version of myself and signed up for the certification course. I had already been working as a life coach for several years, and I intuitively trusted this would be an incredibly powerful tool to help my clients break free from unprocessed emotions and limiting beliefs about themselves and the world. I haven’t looked back since. My stingray revival, as I call it, led me to my purpose as a Certified Master Hypnotist and I couldn’t be more thrilled.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
There’s a significant learning curve when it comes to all the paperwork and deadlines to meet in creating and sustaining a new business. Luckily, I’ve received some great (free) support from the Small Business Development Center. and SCORE, two organizations that any new business should get acquainted with.
Attracting a steady stream of clients was initially challenging, but word of mouth as well as hosting and participating in wellness events/expos have been great ways to attract awesome and soul-aligned clients.
Now, I tell everyone I know that I’m a certified Master Hypnotist. Many people are intrigued and want to hear more! I explain how hypnosis has helped more fully trust myself, generate more abundant income and gain more clarity and peace in my life.
Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I have the most fun and rewarding career! Through a specialized and in-depth process I learned from my mentor Dominque Bertoncini (Dom The Hypnotist) , I get to help people identify and then break free from the precise limiting beliefs and unprocessed emotions (ie: anger, hurt, sadness, fear, guilt, shame) that are keeping them stuck or holding them back in life. Many of us know intellectually that we are worthy and lovable. But if a part of you doesn’t FEEL like you are for whatever reason, then you will be severely limited in what you’re able to create for yourself.
Hypnosis works by increasing focus, reducing distraction, and enhancing suggestibility, which can influence thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. Through an in-depth breakthrough and release process I learned from my mentor, I identify the root causes of limiting beliefs and negative emotions, whether it’s a childhood event, a belief that was passed down genetically or even from a past life. We then reframe these past events so your subconscious mind can learn from them, allowing you to release them and move forward with more wisdom, clarity and purpose.
From weight reduction to boosting income to expanding self-trust, I help people with a range of challenges people face. People can start seeing significant progress within one or two sessions, but I often recommend at least six to eight sessions for maximum positive impact.
I’ve also worked as a life coach since 2019 and have invested in numerous other healing and wellness modalities over the years, including ongoing life coaching, the Option Institute, some Reiki training. I combine proven hypnosis techniques with the most effective life coaching and wellness strategies — all with deep presence and compassion.
As a former journalist and as a current podcaster, I also know the power of story in shifting perceptions of ourselves and creating lasting transformation. The stories we tell ourselves about who we are, what we’re capable of and the world around us determines our contentment, our abundance and our success. I love helping my clients drop outmoded stories that are no longer serving them, and step into new, more empowered identities so they can start living a life that’s finally aligned with their highest values and boldest dreams.
What was your favorite childhood memory?
So many fond childhood memories! One of them was playing hide and seek with my father after he came home from work. My sister and I would hide around the house (she put me in the dirty clothes hamper on more than one occasion!) and my father would look for us, always pretending to be so surprised when we hid in our usual spots. That memory taught me it’s the little things in life that often make the biggest impression with those we care about and love.
