Today we’d like to introduce you to Brennan Clarke.
Hi Brennan, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I have always been fascinated with creation whether it’s art, music or business. Why things are the way they are and the thought process behind them. When I first thought up the idea for what would become a seed-bearing lollipop, I loved that it didn’t exist, that a material good could bring people together and spark inspiration when they interacted with it. I have had many different ideas that lived in my head, but it took my wife Taylor to make them a reality. We want to create products that engage people and that they want to share with others. We believe customers deserve more from their products and we will continue to deliver those products to them. We have just begun!
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
When creating something different or trying to disrupt an industry I’m not sure it’s possible to have a smooth road. My wife and I weren’t confectioners nor did we have contacts in that industry to help us. From developing recipes with ingredients that shared our values to scaling the business there have been countless struggles and victories throughout. My wife and I launched and bootstrapped this business ourselves, which resulted in a different level of stress. In the end, this struggle teaches you lessons about decision making that I wouldn’t trade for the world.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about Amborella Organics?
Amborella Organics has created the first seed-bearing lollipop. You eat the lollipop, plant your stick, and grow the herb or flower you just ate. Examples include Sage & Marshmallow (grow sage) and our latest release Grapefruit & Hope (grow grapefruit mint).
Any advice for finding a mentor or networking in general?
Entrepreneurs are some of the friendliest and most helpful people I’ve come in contact with. We all understand the struggle and are constantly making decisions on the go and creating without a blueprint. I think if you’re coming from a place of honesty and respect of someone’s time people are more than willing to help and network.
Pricing:
- $2.25 per seed-bearing lollipop
