Today we’d like to introduce you to Chynna Cohen.
Chynna, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
My journey into the world of weddings began in a very personal way. In 2021, I married the love of my life in Chattanooga, Tennessee, surrounded by our closest family and friends. Planning our celebration was unexpectedly transformative and I fell in love with every facet of the process, from curating the tablescape to designing florals to the deeper meaning of gathering people for a night of connection, beauty, and celebration.
At the time, I was working in outdoor recreation planning, a career rooted in logistics, creativity, and crafting intentional experiences — all skills that translated seamlessly into events. I genuinely loved the work I was doing, but my passion for celebrations, design, and the art of gathering was always quietly pulling at me. Starting KnightCo. Events felt like the natural next chapter: a way to bring my love of design, storytelling, and human connection into a more personal and lasting space.
Since launching, I’ve had the privilege of planning weddings across the country — from coastal California to the Carolinas, and destinations like O‘ahu and Martha’s Vineyard. While every location and couple is different, my approach remains the same: to create weddings that feel deeply personal, beautifully designed, and effortlessly executed. I serve as both creative partner and logistical guide, helping couples bring their vision to life in a way that feels elevated, grounded, and entirely their own.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Like any meaningful journey, it hasn’t always been smooth but every challenge has shaped me into the business owner and creative I am today.
Launching a business is one thing, but sustaining and growing it — especially in such a personal, emotionally driven industry — comes with its own learning curve. In the beginning, I had to navigate everything at once: building systems, refining my process, developing my brand, and trusting that the right clients would find me. There were seasons of self-doubt, slow bookings, and the pressure of wearing every hat from social media manager to creative partner to logistics.
One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned is how to find stability in the uncertainty. This work requires flexibility, resilience, and a deep trust in your own voice and vision — especially when trends shift or the industry feels saturated. But through it all, my love for this work has never wavered. I genuinely care about my clients and the experiences I’m creating for them, and that clarity has kept me grounded through every obstacle.
I’ve come to believe that the slow seasons, the learning curves, and the growing pains are what ultimately deepen your purpose and make your business stronger.
As you know, we’re big fans of KnightCo Events. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
KnightCo. Events is a bespoke wedding planning and design company dedicated to curating intentional, highly personalized celebrations that reflect the heart of each couple’s story. I offer full-service planning, wedding coordination, and creative design direction for weddings across the country.
What sets KnightCo. apart is the depth of intention behind every detail. I believe a wedding should feel like an extension of who you are — not just aesthetically beautiful, but emotionally resonant and thoughtfully designed. My process blends elevated, refined design with clear, streamlined planning so couples feel creatively inspired and fully supported from start to finish.
While I love a well-executed tablescape or an artfully styled ceremony backdrop, what I’m most proud of is the experience I provide behind the scenes. I work closely with couples of all backgrounds and beliefs, creating events that feel inclusive, elevated, and unmistakably personal.
If you had to, what characteristic of yours would you give the most credit to?
I believe the most important quality contributing to my success is intentionality. I approach every aspect of my work with purposeful care and deep attention to detail. Whether I’m listening to a couple’s story, designing a wedding day layout, or managing complex logistics, I strive to be fully present and thoughtful in every decision.
This intentional approach ensures that each event feels authentic and meaningful, not just beautiful. It allows me to build genuine connections with my clients, understand their vision on a profound level, and translate that into an experience that truly reflects who they are.
Ultimately, intentionality creates trust and clarity, which are essential for delivering seamless, elevated celebrations where couples feel supported, inspired, and cared for throughout the entire journey.
