Today we’d like to introduce you to Cindy & Gabe Latino.
Hi Cindy & Gabe , we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
My husband and I own The Joint Chiropractic in Santee. Over the years, we’ve built a strong connection with the East County community not only with his patients but the local businesses. That love inspired us to move from Downtown San Diego to Lakeside to be closer to his office and start our family.
When we began searching for a local boutique studio to work out at, we weren’t impressed with the options available. That’s when we thought, why not open something we truly love?
With Gabe’s background as a chiropractor and his holistic approach to health, we started exploring franchise gym opportunities.
That search led us to HOTWORX, an infrared sauna workout studio.
We instantly fell in love with the concept, signed up to attend their annual meeting in San Antonio, Texas, and became passionate about bringing it to our community. From there, everything fell into place and the rest is history.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
The construction phase was definitely challenging, we had to navigate rigorous permits and overcome several delays. Once we finally opened our doors, we faced a few hiccups in building our team. But through it all, we stayed focused on our vision, and those challenges only made us more grateful for the community we’ve built today.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
At HOTWORX Santee, we’re more than just a gym we’re a boutique fitness studio open 24/7 for your convenience. Members enjoy full access to our studio at any time of day, with workouts ranging from 15 to 45 minutes inside our infrared saunas with a virtual instructor. Our workouts combine exercise with the power of infrared heat, which helps boost calorie burn, increase sweating for detoxification, enhance flexibility and mobility and support muscle recovery.
In addition to our infrared sessions, we also offer the FX Zone, a non-heated area equipped with weights, bands, ropes, and more. It’s the perfect space to warm up, cool down, or add strength training to your routine.
Can you talk to us a bit about happiness and what makes you happy?
Seeing our members walk in, give it their all, and leave with that accomplished post-workout glow makes everything worth it. We officially opened our doors in November 2023, while we were pregnant with twins, and watching our studio grow right alongside them has been one of the most rewarding experiences of our lives.
