Hi Dr. Arzoo, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My name is Dr. Arzoo Sadiqi, and my journey began in Afghanistan, a country where opportunities for women, especially in education, were severely limited. Twenty-five years ago, my family and I immigrated to the United States, seeking a life where such barriers didn’t exist. This pivotal move changed everything for me. The chance to pursue an education here wasn’t just an opportunity; it was a fundamental shift that set the course for my life. I proudly became the first female physician in my family, now board-certified in family medicine, with a deep passion for preventative health, surgical and non surgical hair restoration and the evolving field of aesthetic medicine.
My brother, Dr. Rauf Sadiqi, who is board-certified in internal medicine, and I carry on a powerful family legacy. Our father was a respected surgeon in Afghanistan, whose life was tragically cut short during the war when we were very young. His dedication to healing and medicine lives on through us, and we both feel an immense sense of pride in our heritage and the path we’ve forged.
Together, my brother and I recently opened a physician-run medical spa and hair restoration center in Eastlake, Chula Vista. We recognized a significant need in the South Bay for safe, high-quality aesthetic care. We’re particularly proud to be the only female physician-operated clinic in the area offering advanced SmartGraft FUE (follicular unit extraction) hair, eyebrow, and beard transplants. Our mission is to provide our community with cutting-edge technology and truly personalized care. We aim to offer a trusted local alternative for those who might otherwise travel abroad to places like Turkey or Tijuana for hair restoration, where results can often be disappointing or even unsafe.
Our practice is built on the pillars of education, empowerment, and preventative medicine. We are deeply committed to making aesthetic treatments safe, affordable, and accessible. By providing flexible financing options and maintaining competitive pricing, we ensure that our patients can invest in their health and confidence without ever compromising on safety or the quality of their results.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
My journey has been anything but smooth. Becoming a board-certified physician is an immense undertaking in itself, but it was especially challenging given traditionally medicine has been and in many areas continues to be a largely male-dominated field. After more than 11 years of rigorous schooling, demanding training, and countless board exams, I finally achieved the dream I’d held since I was a five-year-old girl in Afghanistan.
This achievement wouldn’t have been possible without the unwavering support of my incredibly courageous mother. After my father was killed in front of us, my mother risked her life, sold her wedding band and any other valuables she possessed, all to get us out of war-torn Afghanistan and bring us to the United States. Thanks to her sacrifice, I’ve been able to pursue dreams that countless other young Afghan girls couldn’t even imagine. My three brothers have also been a tremendous source of strength, supporting me in every aspect of my life and most recently with our new endeavor of opening this clinic and offering the specialized services we now provide.
I’m incredibly proud and feel truly blessed to bring my artistic eye and touch to aesthetic medicine. The compliments I receive from my clients are what truly fuel me; they often tell me the results are life-changing. Whether it’s through Botox, fillers, microneedling, PRP, hair transplants, or eyebrow transplants, the recurring theme I hear is the profound positive impact these treatments have on their confidence and how amazing they feel after seeing me. Despite the struggles, the decade-plus of schooling, and the challenges I faced to become the physician I am today, this genuine feedback is what keeps me going and motivates me to continue giving back to my community.
My family and I are a testament to the American Dream: arriving as immigrants, working tirelessly, and never stopping until we’re able to contribute meaningfully to the community that welcomed us.

Networking and finding a mentor can have such a positive impact on one’s life and career. Any advice?
Finding the right mentors has been absolutely crucial in my journey, and I was incredibly fortunate to have my brother alongside me every step of the way through my medical training. Additionally, I’ve encountered many wonderful physicians and mentors who not only guided me professionally but also helped me cultivate my artistic eye, particularly in aesthetic medicine.
My passion for aesthetics truly began in 2015, during my medical school rotations. While working in a neurology clinic, I learned how Botox could be used therapeutically for migraines. This sparked my interest in its aesthetic applications as well. From that moment, I actively sought out opportunities to network with other physicians, dermatologists, and surgeons, attended numerous conferences, and learned injection techniques directly from various preceptors. This proactive approach to networking and learning was imperative for my growth.
I always emphasize the importance of networking to my medical students. It’s about connecting with people who inspire you, can offer guidance, and open doors to new learning experiences. To further share knowledge and empower others interested in medicine or simply learning, I even started a YouTube channel over 10 years ago where I share educational content.
My advice for anyone looking to find a mentor or build their network is to be curious, be proactive, and be open to learning from everyone around you. Attend conferences, join professional organizations, and don’t hesitate to reach out to people whose work you admire. You never know where those connections might lead.
