Inspiring Conversations with Itzel Rodriguez of Raguez Cakes Shop

Today we’d like to introduce you to Itzel Rodriguez.

Itzel, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
Back in 2015, I was in vacations with my parents at Las Vegas, Nevada. We were walking around the town when I saw a sign of the Carlo’s Bakery. We went inside to have the experience of being at the Carlo’s bakery, in the moment when I saw the machines, pastries, and everything I knew this was what I wanted to do. After that, I started to prepare myself to learn everything about culinary arts and start my own business.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back, would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
One of the biggest challenged I’ve had was at the beginning of my career when I first began promoting my cake business. I had to gain the trust of my first customers and accomplish their expectations. It was the hardest, but working hard, learning, and practicing, make them come back and feel comfortable with me as their cake artist. I’m still learning and improving with every cake design I make.

As you know, we’re big fans of Raguez Cakes Shop. For our readers who might not be as familiar, what can you tell them about the brand?
Raguez is not just a cake shop; Raguez is a place where you can find what you looking for in taste, design, and quality. One of the things that motivates me to get better with every cake I made is the happiness my clients show every time they see their orders done and let me know that I accomplish their expectations. Raguez Cakes Shop it’s a cake and pastries business. At first, I started specialize in cakes; when I dominated the cake area, I started to incorporate pastries by dozens and dessert tables for birthdays, Quinceaños, weddings, etc.

Alright, so before we go, can you talk to us a bit about how people can work with you, collaborate with you or support you?
I started to attend pop-ups events, selling Iced coffee, cookies, cake slices. People start supporting me by coming to this events buying, and posting on their social media. I’m open to collaborate with decoration artist at any kind of events. I can be reach through my social media @RaguezCakesShop.
