Today we’d like to introduce you to Jenn Dolan.
Hi Jenn, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today.
I was always convinced I would be a teacher – and I was, for a while. But life, as it often does for so many of us, had other plans. After experiencing incredibly devastating losses in my personal life, I began to recognize that I needed a change. A wonderful friend of mine is a successful Realtor in Temecula and was convinced that I could also be successful in the world of real estate. Soon enough, she had me convinced as well. Fast forward many years later, with plenty of lessons learned along the way, and I’m running a successful business with a small team of amazing people beside me!
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
I don’t think anything in life worth having is found along a smooth road. You don’t find out how badly you want something unless, or until, you have to fight for it. Connecting with clients and fostering relationships in the community has certainly been the easiest piece of the equation for me. I love meeting new people, finding out their stories, and discovering how I can help them reach their real estate goals. However, I’d never taken a business class before jumping into being self-employed. So there was quite a bit to learn in regards to what being a business owner means, what it looks like, how to hold yourself accountable, how to hire the right people to support you along the way. Can you tell I could keep going with that list? The learning curve was steep but absolutely worth it.
As you know, we’re big fans of Jenn Dolan Realty Group. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
It still blows me away that I’m running a (successful!) business that bears my name! I built my brand in North County, but as we’ve grown over the years, we now proudly serve all of San Diego County – and just recently started expanding into other regions in California as well! At a time where many in the industry are scaling back, or leaving completely, I am excited that we are actively looking for agents to join us throughout California and beyond!
I am most proud of being well-known in the community for always giving back; whether it’s sponsoring local sports teams, or doing giveaways in community Facebook groups, or participating in local events, we are always looking for ways to contribute. Our success in real estate would truly not be possible without the support of our neighbors and community members, so supporting them in return is a privilege that we don’t take lightly.
What sets us apart from other real estate agents is that we firmly believe that it is not our job to *convince* someone to buy or sell a home with us. Instead, we view our role as connecting with clients who are motivated to buy or sell and then educating, guiding, and supporting them through the process with as little stress and frustration as possible. It is our goal that you’ll not only think of us as excellent Realtors throughout our time working together, but you’ll also consider us a trusted friend in the end.
What makes you happy?
Spending time with my husband, our son and our two dogs will always make the most happy. I also love connecting with our extended family and friends. Outside of Jenn Dolan Realty Group and my family and friends, I enjoy working out, reading when I find the time, and I’m always on the hunt for fantastic local restaurants that have gluten-free options!
